what are using for sound cards. any of using audio interface I'm using an old school PCI Audigy 2 actually. There's probably no advantage over on-board audio these days, but it's nice to have a few extra inputs and outputs (speakers, earphones, mic, guitar amp...)

I bought this HP, used for 300€ in March 2016, I think this costs 800/900€ brand new, it only had 1 year and a hald back when I bought it support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04150874I saw the ad on a classified website, it was a guy in a hurry for cash, he lived in a weird ghetto social housing district in Lisbon (Portugal) suburbs 300€ is less than the actual cost of the CPU, lel I replaced the disk and added a pair of new memory ram, I bought a Toshiba Q300 960gb SSD for 200€ in a promotion I'm not much into gaming these days, I was an hardcore hardware nerd back in my teenage days (2007 - 2010) Maybe when this OEM graphic card blows up, I'll replace it, still better than onboard haha

That's an expensive video card, albeit at a great discount. It's one hell of a nice one though. What games are you going to be playing, and at what screen resolution?

The last big performance jump in Intel CPUs was between the 1st gen i5/i7 and Sandy Bridge. Coincidentally that was also the time when AMD released the flop known as Bulldozer. After that it is only like 5% performance increase at most. Since they have no competition in the high-end market Intel is fine with regurgitating CPUs with a 5% performance increase and a +1 to its name for the same price while also charging $1000+ for high-end octacore and decacore CPUs. They can also get away with "unlocked" CPUs with $30 surcharges. This will hopefully change once AMD Ryzen is released and sends Intel running. It looks like Intel is already preparing for this since they silently released the $64 hyperthreaded Pentium G4560 which provides around 10% less performance than an i3-7100 for nearly half the price, but they marketed the overpriced i3-7350k instead.

System requirements for Fallout 4 HD textures are ridiculous.

As a kind of confession - I just thought, I never owned an AMD cpu machine.) And that was not so intentionally, probably, just happenned that way. Although AMD often is called a producer of heating equipment (or water heaters). PS. I wanted to buy i5-6400 last year, some B150 based motherboard (not a gaming machine), some DDR4 memory, thought it's time to upgrade (I have two PC's from 2002 and 2007 as I've said already), but then changed my mind. Will wait to those Cannon Lake thingies.) Or maybe finally will try AMD.) Anyway in my room where I am sitting is soo cold in winters.
