Worth considering the editions of each album went like this: Debut - Best Buy edition, deluxe, bonus track rerelease Fearless - Walmart edition, platinum edition Speak Now - Target edition Red - Target edition, Zinepak edition 1989 - Target edition, but there were 13 collectible sets of Polaroids so undoubtedly some fans bought more than one to try to collect all the Polaroids Reputation - 2 Target magazine editions Lover - 4 Target journals Folklore - 8 different cover editions, signed copies Evermore - deluxe, signed copies Midnights - 4 color variants, clock piece, signed copies Fearless TV - Target edition, signed copies Speak Now TV - color variants of vinyl Red TV - signed copies 1989 TV - 4 color variants, Target exclusive vinyl, Target editions that vary slightly from the standards, filmstrip shelf Yeah over time she’s clearly found ways to better market the albums and sell accessories etc. to increase incentive to buy multiple versions. Very great point. And to further that point of her continuously finding new ways to incentivize her albums (both physical and digital copies featuring exclusive tracks (i.e. SNTV deluxe with eras tour live recordings), she hasn’t seemed to do the same exact thing twice. The first three albums all had a similar approach, but nevertheless, not copy and pasted from one another. Changing up her approach with each album, even if only slightly, gives a sense of innovation to the album and it doesn’t feel distinctly the same as each album before it.

^ I can say I’m surprised but I can also say that I’m not surprised. It’s really setting a precedent. Some fans think that RepTV can outpace 1989TV, but I don’t think it can or will. Rep definitely has a huge fandom support, but it doesn’t have the same level of support from the GP as 1989 did/does. I think RepTV could sell over a million copies in its first week like the original did, but I don’t see it matching or succeeding 1989TV. It’s hard to say. The original Red and Speak Now sold over a million in its first week but neither taylor’s version did.
Hypothetically speaking because a Midnights TV isn’t a concept and never will be, Even as big as Midnights was upon release, I don’t think it could necessarily replicate its success 10-13 years down the line as a re-release/re-recording. I think it shows how different the success of 1989 as a whole differs from the other albums.
But 1989TV also sets a precedent for future new albums. Can Taylor have a new album reach a higher milestone than Midnights and 1989TV. It’s difficult to pinpoint how much of the success of 1989TV is from Taylor’s continual increase in popularity during the Eras Tour and how much is from the support of the taylor’s version project and how much is from the nostalgia of 1989 specifically compared to other albums.

I’ve listened to all the TVs so far in order like I do with brand new albums. So I’ll be doing the same for 1989 TV too. Obviously the experience for everyone is different, but for me listening to the original album in order first gets me hyped and more excited for the vault tracks. I also like how listening to the original songs first gives me a fresh listen of those songs to be able to compare the production of the vault songs and decide whether or not they “fit” with the original track list. I’ve been seeing people posting online that they’re already receiving their vinyls and cds. I’m not one of the lucky few Hopefully nobody isn’t posting/leaking actual audio or spoilers.

I’m seeing many twitter accounts reporting that 1989 TV is pushing an official single to radio on Friday with the release of the album.
I haven’t seen any sort of official accounts reporting this though. If there is an official single, I’m assuming it will be a vault track. And well possibly get a music video?

Ah yes I honestly keep forgetting Speak Now came out because I only listened through the whole album once and they pretty much stopped promoting it after it was released and started right with 1989. Poor Speak Now. Even Debut TV will probably get more attention and promotion.

^ and Speak Now (TV) if you’re including re-recordings.
I think it’s really cool that Cruel Summer has had such a resurgence this year. And for it to have stayed so high on the Hot 100 chart all summer long and finally reach #1 when it’s not even summer anymore.
I think it will have a resurgence every year during summer just like August has had each August since folklore.

I saw the film in theaters tonight. The footage was amazing. And the audio sounded so great!
In the credits, alongside footage of fans at the shows, they also showed clips of Taylor’s mishaps on tour. People online have deemed these moments the “errors” tour. I thought it was really cool that Taylor included those kind of clips in the credits sort of like bloopers that a regular film might show in their credits.

I haven’t seen the film yet. I got tickets for the second weekend, as that’s when my friend and I were both available to go together. But I saw a clip online of the credits when Long Live plays. From the very short clip, it didn’t look like any parts of the performance were used, instead just pictures of fans at the concerts. And the audio wasn’t super clear, but it sounded like Long Live TV was playing and not the audio from the Eras Tour performance.
Just thought that was interesting because when I heard about LL being played over the credits, I envisioned the credits rolling over top the footage of the performance and it seems that’s not what the credits are like at all.
I still think it would’ve been cool for the credits song to be YOYOK because that’s the song that played in the stadium immediately after the concert ended. But I guess Taylor really wanted YOYOK to be one of the surprise songs in the film.

^Thats why I thought it definitely wouldn’t be the Bad Blood Remix. Because the remix is the more common version of the song. Casual listeners only know the remix because it was the single version which got the music video and got played on the radio. Only fans largely knew the album version, and I’d say most fans preferred the remix. So it’s definitely the more favorable version of the song overall. So I thought that there is no way she’d put the Bad Blood Remix exclusively on a vinyl.
I will say, justice for the album version of Bad Blood. I prefer it over the remix. Not because I dislike Kendrick or his verses, but because I love the backing track to the album version and I think the remix track is just okay. Bad Blood gets a lot of hate in general from fans. It’s always been one of my favorite songs from 1989.

Sweeter Than Fiction (Taylor's Version) will be the bonus track on the tangerine vinyl. A retailer in Australia uploaded the tracklist prematurely on their website and revealed this information. No official word from Taylor or Taylor Nation. But nevertheless, I think it's safe to say this is the bonus track since it came from an actual retailer and not just some random person on the internet.

Is It Over Now? sounds like it willl fall in the lines of The Lucky One and Nothing New, talking about her fears about her career ending or her becoming irrelevant.
I could be wrong and it could be about fears of a relationship ending.

And now Taylor Nation is asking for fans to keep doing the same puzzles to get a total of 40 million. People are speculating that more info may be announced when the 40 million is reached.

It looks like now it is showing up for more people. You must type “Taylor Swift” in the Google searchbar and scroll down a bit to see the blue vault (some people said it only works if you capitalize the letters). Then click on the vault and clear the search bar (hit the x, don’t backspace) and type “1989 Taylor’s version” then all I get from there is a message to check back soon, but some people have already figured out some of the puzzle answers. Apparently we have to solve 33 million puzzles to unlock the vault itself. The puzzles so far have been things like “she lost him,” “thirteen,” “summer fling,” etc. so I don’t think any actual vault track names yet. After I finally got the vault to show up, I was struggling so hard to figure out how to enter my answers. I was using backspace and then typing my answer as well as trying to type my answer after "taylor swift" in the search bar. After seeing your post I learned that neither of those were correct and none of my answers were being recorded. smh But I've got almost 30 done! I really struggled with the "halloween costume" hint. All I could think of were her frozen olaf costume and her bear costume. I had to google images of her past halloween costumes to get a visual hint and I eventually figured it out.

Did the vault thing work for you guys? It didn't for me 😭 I did not for me either. I’m convinced Taylor and her team had nothing to do with it. It seemed weird and out of place.

I’m sure theaters are maximizing how many screens their showing the concert film on at the beginning to fit the high demand, but as the weeks go on, theaters will probably decrease the number of screens they use for the film. After so many weeks, it could be down to one screen at each theater which would make room for other films to be played at the theaters.
