I once really got into this MMORPG called Fallen Earth a few years back. It's placed in a post-apocalyptic Fallout-esque setting. You started with a horse, an airsoft gun, and an axe and are sent to kill bandits. There was actually a pretty interesting story that unfortunately faded away as you got to a higher level. I actually got quite far in the game and had a motorcycle, combat rifle, shotgun, and a sledgehammer. My fondest memory was finding a city that had mutated spiders. I remember fleeing that area on my horse with five of them chasing me!

There was also a pretty sweet PvP mode which I was pretty good at. I remember fumbling around with the inventory in order to switch to a shotgun to shoot the guy running at me with a spiked baseball bat as well as getting my ass handed to me by actual gun-wielding players when I thought I could fight them with my airsoft rifle.

I quit as it became a grind. It descended to killing chickens for exp, literally.

I think the game is dead, but I may go back to it.
