Apple music: Mercury In Retrograde: 2:09 Pity Party: 1:54 God.. Is there a link available? I’ve tried googling it but there’s nothing on iTunes yet apparently.

It's cool to look back at these stories and try to think which songs were being recorded at that time now that we have had the album long enough. For instance, I'm almost certain Avril was recording the bass for BOAH at 2:30. It's the exact same melody. And the story in min 3:47 is her playing the same chord progression for the "woah, wooooah" part of the chorus. Probably that's when she recorded guitars for it. It's great we can now when some of the songs were recorded. It's the closest we'll get to a Making Of lol. There was also a story with her clapping with some rubber gloves, which I'm sure was for the clapping part of the pre-chorus in Bois Lie. I don’t believe she’s credited with playing an instrument on that song though? Weird cause they did the same thing with ICDB where she was clearly shown recording guitar for it but never credited. She might have just been playing for fun but somebody else recorded it for the album. Actually, she is! She’s credited with guitar on that track on the album booklet

The remaining songs from the board that we don't have at all: Me Myself & I Burn Out Dancing with a Hurricane Take My Breath. By the way, someone remembers the snippet from the studio where Avril sing "oh it's like a ..." and also where there was some kind of evil music at the beginning, and then Avril calmly sang the harmony on the rise "oh oh oh ..." and at the end Mod shouted. I remember both. The first one seemed to be a fast paced song, and the second one with the “oh, oh, oh, oh…” and then a sort of chorus of “oh, oh, oh, oh” seemed to be a darker song. Neither of them saw the light of day.

Yeah, for sure it will be the most complete Deluxe of her career. So that’s definitely a win for us. Also, the fact that she’s close to finishing her new album and that we know it’s very likely we’ll get new music next year makes me happy.
However, if we did get a surprise extra track, I think everyone would be more than pleased and people complaining for “lack of new tracks” would at least be satisfied, since 4 would be more than enough for a deluxe. Yes, one song can make a difference, especially since we’re getting an outro track with PP more than a new full-length song. But I agree, I don’t think that’s going to happen. We would’ve known by now unless it’s literally a surprise track lol.

So I was just scrolling through her comments on her Deluxe reel yesterday and basically everyone is asking for more songs. I wonder if she/DTA will read into this and change their minds to at least add one or two more songs. If it’s not being released in physical format, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue I think. But I could be wrong, since I have no idea how uploading music to streaming services works.
Call me naive, but a small, tiny part of me still hopes she’ll pull a “3 am version” surprise drop. Not counting on it though, but it would be great.

I can still say this album to me is her strongest along with UMS. There isn't a single song on it I dislike. Literally it's one banger after another. Sonically, she gave us her most consistent album since TBDT, and I think we all loved that. The weakest tracks for me (LIWYHM, KMLTWIE) are still better than any song on her last two albums (with the exception of IFILWTD and HAW), yes that's how much I love this album lol. My only criticism would be the lack of diversity in terms of lyrical content, and I wouldn't have minded another mid-tempo in the first half to slow down the album's fast pace.
And even though I'm a bit disappointed with what we're getting with the deluxe, at least it's three new tracks that will enhance the experience of listening to this album with 7 extra minutes (not counting you, acoustics).
If AL8 brings us the consistency and sound of this album, and touches on more serious topics with a few more mid-tempos and a couple more ballads with great buildups, I think I'll be the happiest I've ever been as a fan.

I usually don’t mind 2:30 min songs anymore, I think it’s the current standard. It’s becoming more and more rare to have songs over 3 minutes long, so that wouldn’t be a problem. But as much as I love BOAH as a closer, I don’t need nor want another short closer. Why would they think this was a good idea anyway?
Honestly, why didn’t they just include Joker? It would’ve served the purpose and it’s already a fan favorite. I don’t think it’s worth it to have a new song if it’s going to be that short. Now I can say I would’ve really wanted one of the leaks instead of Pity Party, which were at least the standard length of LS’s tracks.
This deluxe keeps getting more disappointing. I don’t even know who to blame for this, if the leakers or some bad management on behalf of DTA, but right now I just want her to wrap AL8 and give us new music next year.

Yeah, i also don't think they did a great job trying to only desature the background i texted to designer about it and i think he read my comment so... ofc it is impossible to change but at least he might knew that. Also her and skin and hair is redish and for me background better to be more black. He has a grammy nominee but i really can make it better lol The conclusion is: avril's designers are shit and grammy is shitty also So here's something very odd. I wanted to play around with the cover, so I imported it in Photoshop. Funny thing is that when I did that , only imported it, the cover looked much better, without the red tones. I didn't even have to edit it, just importing it changed the tones. It's very weird. I'm sure there must've been an exporting issue and nobody bothered double checking. This seems to be the original color tone:

Hmm, Pity Party sounds too "pop-ish"? I'm not sure, it's such a brief and low-quality snippet, but the drums almost sound fake and it sounds like something that would be in AL. I guess it'll be kind of similar to the title track in that sense, where it has a basic drum pattern and lots of synths. Hopefully I'm wrong and the final song sounds much better. Also, is this the actual chorus to Mercury In Retrograde? It sounds quite flat, like it doesn't go anywhere. Wow, I actually think the opposite about Pity Party. It sounds very rock-ish to me, almost like a classic rock feel or something from the ‘80s maybe? I don’t think it sounds pop at all and I think they put some kind of effect on her voice to make it sound more vintage. Obviously it's hard to judge based on a few couple of seconds, but I'm worried those are fake drums, which would sort of kill the consistency the album had all along of using real instruments, even worse being the deluxe closer. It's weird considering Travis Barker must've produced it and played drums for it, why would they do this to the drums..but we'll see. The one thing that killed Bad Girl for me was that weird echo sound effect in her voice. It was the only rock song on the album, and I remember being really pissed because her vocals sounded that way lol. This doesn't sound so much like that vocal effect, but more of a "distorted guitar" vocal effect, which is not bad, as long as it's not overused. I'm really thinking this will be Love Sux 2.0 sonically.

I listen to some more than others. Joker and Eternally are quite on the top and are probably the only two songs I know by heart. The rest of the leaks, only here and there. I definitely listen to the album more than the leaks.

I hope it's not an outro and that it lasts at least 2:30 min.
I don't want an acoustic reflective track either, she needs to end it with a banger, either something mid-tempo like Avalanche or faster like Bite Me. Or even a ballad, but something that makes you say "wow, they set this one apart from the others for good reason" rather than "it's here because it matches the acoustic vibe of the remixes" She couldn't have sacrificed Joker for a mellow song lol.
I'm also wondering if this last track will serve as an indicator to what's coming in AL8. I feel the link between these albums will be very strong, but will show a different side, more serious and less fast-paced yet keeping the aggressiveness of Love Sux.

I think Too Fast To Live will leak pretty soon. It's the only song among the leaks that hasn't been revealed fully, aside from Retrograde and TN.
I'm surprised Mercury In Retrograde hasn't been leaked in full yet since it has already been confirmed for the deluxe, so it'll lose it's value in less than a week.

Even though I’m sure this was not the deluxe she had originally planned, and that the leaks did indeed change the course of it, at least we’re getting two brand new songs that were never leaked (we only heard 10-15 seconds of Mercury) and 3 if we count IAM. As much as I love Joker and some of the leaks, I don’t think I would’ve wanted to just have two songs that we’re already very familiar with and never getting to hear Pity Party for instance.
I know once those songs lose their “novelty” value this will change and we will either be super happy she included these because they turned out to be better than the leaked ones or we’ll be disappointed if they turned out regular and we could’ve gotten Joker and Eternally instead.
I still don’t understand why leaks affected these songs getting included. Full studio albums have leaked weeks and months before their release and have still managed to be successful in streaming services and become chart-topping albums. We know for sure 99.9% of the GP has no idea these songs exist. There could be other reasons for them getting scrapped, like Avril not feeling them or not liking them enough to release them officially.
