I hadn't originally planned to donate tbh. I love that she cares so much about helping sick people. But there are so many things I could donate to; I gotta set priorities. I don't have that much money to donate to everything I care about. I don't even earn money yet. All I got is my pocket money and that from Christmas, Easter etc.
But seeing how badly this project is going, I thought I might at least donate $10. However, I just found out that you can only donate with credit card, so... yeah... I can't donate. I don't have a credit card.
Maybe they'd get more donations if there were more ways of donating? Like PayPal maybe? Or has it always been like that - credit card only?

$50,000 was always going to be too optimistic a goal but I really hope the donations pick up pace, they're so far off at the moment with not so many days left. I've donated $10 but they really need to push the promotion of this to get more people interested.

There's several factors IMO as to why the campaign isn't doing so well:
The only people that really know about this and would care about donating are her fans. She still has lots of fans left but she has also been out of the spotlight for awhile now. No one knows this is happening. She's got to do IMO what she has done in the past and get other celebrities involved. Even if just her famous friends like Ryan, Chad, etc. tweeted a link it may help a lot. There just isn't a lot of publicity about it. And as already mentioned the prizes really don't create much of an incentive to donate either. In the past celebrities donated stuff which created more buzz.

I've donated $10 aswell. Well, that's what I can do right now, wish I could donate more...
She's always helping/promoting her ex-husbands/current-whatever music, now they could give her a little help too by promoting this good cause...

Exactly, it would probably be beneficial if Avril were even to do something like record a short video talking about what the cause means to her because then people would at least be more likely to pay attention and it may even gain some media traction, whereas the way they are conducting the campaign at the moment is just so easy to scroll past and forget about.

What, no discussion of the mystery cloth item?
We know she doesn't wear underwear that often so what could it be?
Come on guys, step it up!
Haha.

The mystery clothing item could be something she wore in a music video once maybe. Or it's probably a new item of AD.

They only have about a week left and they're still at about 1/5 of their goal.

Seriously? Again? I just want to ask those, who deals with this at the ALF side - aren't there international organizations of that kind, that are able to help really "anyone diagnosed with Lyme disease..." regardless of their country of residence? PS. For those arguing that there is no difference whom to help, I can only agree - exactly! there must not be difference whom to help, by country of residence or whatever differentiating factor.

I think I remember that last year the donations came in pretty slowly as well and then all of the sudden, within 1 or 2 days all the money was donated and the goal could be reached. Maybe it was Avril herself or some of her friends. I think they will probably do the same this year. Reaching only 1/5 of your goal is a bit embarrassing and collecting only 10.000$ for someone with a brand like Avril looks ridiculous.
