Even if they are not deemed offensive? I've never heard of such a thing.

Should HK be hated? I've never heard of such a thing.

If the post is off-topic enough to detract from the thread's central discussion - yes.

I can understand moving an off topic post but no inoffensive post by any human being should be quashed on a public forum. Free speech still means something, at least in America. This is not aimed at anyone here at BA in particular .
I am drawing attention to it because people here fought and died for that right which we enjoy. I humbly ask the people who run BA to reconsider and possibly codify their position in writing somewhere on the board.
Thank you.

Like any online forum, freedom of speech has and always will be an important and prominent factor of Bandaids. Although as staff, we have to enforce rules to keep the forum orderly and flowing neatly. One off-topic post can throw an entire thread off as has been witnessed before which is why a post may have been deleted - in order to avoid that. Freedom of speech goes hand in hand with freedom of expression, although similarly to public schools and workplaces, there are a few restrictions. Virtually all schools and workplaces, even forums, adopt rules that some may deem as "limiting free speech". These rules only limit speech based on a reasonable expectation that it will cause a material and substantial disruption of activities and discussions or invade the rights of others. Chances are that the deleted post you're referring to was simply deleted because we felt as though it may have been off-topic enough to cause a fair disruption in the flow of the thread. It is in no way against the user or a way to try to purposely limit free speech. I do understand where you're trying to come from though which is why I encourage you to PM me or another staff member if you have anymore questions, points or suggestions regarding the subject that you'd like to share.

Freedom of speech has its caveats.
This is not aimed at anyone in particular, but Avril Bandaids is not your personal blog, and you cannot post whatever wherever. Posts may be moved or deleted at our discretion. I really wish certain members would just accept this gracefully and move on. All we're trying to do is keep the forum organised and easy to read.

Can you please tell us what this thread is for exactly? (In a PM, thread has been locked) Which post has been deleted? If it was a post in AL6 then yes, we do delete unconfirmed sources. That rule has been in place for quite some time. A thread was not made for the Violin video because as Bogo said it'd literally just be a thread where everyone was talking about how he just used the AL6 tag to promote it (which is shitty of him) and if we did that every time something like this happened it'd cause clarity issues.
Unconfirmed threads are fine - but they do not belong in the AL6 thread.
