We all hear wrong sometimes. Even if the singer doesn't pronounced the words correctly or the production does something, it could be that you aren't a native (English) speaker or you simply missheard the lyrics.
So in this thread you can post your funny or "what?!" missheard lyrics

Lyrics: But my dreams they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be
Missheard: But my dreams aren't as empty, as my car just seems to be.
(Limp Bizkit version of Behind Blue Eyes)

Can I put this here? haha:
I just can't hear the falsetto bit in Plug in Baby (Muse) as: 'And I've seen your loving But mine is gone And I've been in trouble'
I hear: 'And I've seen your loving Wah wah wah And I need a new drummer Waaaaah' Still sing my way at their concerts haha

Do I need to put the lyrics of the song here when I say I used to hear "list of Starbucks lovers" instead of "list of ex-lovers"?

^I thought the same. When I heard that first time, no one seemed to notice. Then about a month later, bam, it was all over my newsfeed. I remember someone posted on the old forum, from 17: "The nights were cold but we kept them hot" ----> "His nuts were cold but I kept them hot"

In Darlin I used to think she was saying "Tomorow's lightest day," not "Tomorrow's not yesterday."

In Katy Perry's E.T she says "a different dimension" and I understand "fette menschen" which means "fat people" in german xD

I keep hearing "Who'd invite a Jew" all the time :rofl:The first time I heard Lorde's "Glory and Gore" I thought she said "Glory and Gold". And not exactly mishearing, but in the Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers" when it says "I'll be in my basement room/ with a needle and a spoon" I spent YEARS believing the needle was to sew back his broken heart and the spoon to take some medicine to heal it And later, when my friends told me that that's what you need to get high with heroin I laughed and said "guys, you totally missed the point...why would it be about drugs?" "Because it's a Rolling Stones' song, dude" Best answer ever

By the way, talking about heroin, probably my most misheard song of all time was probably "Diamonds and guns" by The Transplants.
My version: "Fast cars off Sierra Leone Taken one more fast than Karl Malone Bad looms, your dome Injustice, entombed"
real lyrics:
"Bombs going off in Sierra Leone taken more shots than Karl Malone Battle looms, your doom, injustice entombed"
what I used to sing along with the chorus:
"It's a wicked world that we live in It's cruel and ain't forgiver; it's a wicked world that we live in It's cruel and I'm no forgiver"
and reality:
"It's a wicked world that we live in It's cruel and unforgiving It's a wicked world that we live in It's cruel and unforgiving"
Real lyrics: "Knock, knock, knock Who's that? It's momma, son"
A probably hungry 15 year old me:
"Snack, nack, nack Who's that? It's by my side"
"I shot in habit"
Actually
"I shot in heaven"
"No one loses forever"
Instead of
"No one lives forever"
And my favourite, the rapping part. I understood something like:
"I'm waking up, ripping up, hardstyle when I'm dipping out I'm sleeping now, tipping up, kill 'im when I'm leaving now Pick 'im up, spinning down, let me wipe 'em out Get kicked in your face, wool and sticky now Missing out, dissing 'bout, let's hear why you're pissing now Eighty four, ain't crazy whore, you're up to tell 'em now Ripping up, I'm tripping out, I'm beating now, Anyone, I'm building and a pole, now without any trimming now Criminal, I'm hating up In no way not getting now 2, 1, 3, pack your feet, well, we can sail Listen up, I'm seminal, I'm sipping sick packs of sipping out"
I can't get it totally right yet. I suck at understanding rap. But nowadays I understand it much closer to the actual lyrics that apparently are:
"I'm wiggin out, flippin' out, hearts is what I'm rippin' out I'm slippin' out, I'm dippin' out, killin's what I'm livin' now Victim, let me pick 'em out, spin and let me whip it out Gat to your face with the fuckin' bullets stickin' out Missin' out, diss and bout, blood's what you're pissin' out 84 I'm Crazy Horse, shootin' up, I'm illin' out Rippin' out, I'm trippin' out, different now, I'm pimpin' out any color at my belt and ouch while they're clippin out Criminal I'm hittin' out, in L.A. no gettin' out 2 1 3, pack your P, fly wicked style Listen now, I'm sinnin' out, a 6-pack I'm sippin' out"

She's gonna be the end of you At least that's what they say
All of this reminds me of Aileen Wuornos. But seriously though, I feel totally sorry for how her life ended. [someone needs to add a new crying smiley] EDIT: That actually reminded me of one of my own misheard lyrics. The Pretty Reckless has a song called Miss Nothing. For about a year or two, I thought the song was about this bitchy woman and thought what Taylor meant was "Ms. Nothing, Ms. Everything". [Sometimes I still think it's true ]

[Sometimes I still think it's true ] I think that Miss Nothing is a word game. I do think she means both things. It's a very sophisticated song, if you look closely, at least in term of lyrical complexity. Lol, don't deny all those lines support my version of OOTG. Also "Her blonde hair, her blue eyes/ makes you wanna die" But what made me positive about it is the part when she says: "It's been a while You're in denial and now it's too late" Which I took for "It's been a while You're in the Nile And now it's too late" I thought it was about a blonde, blue eyed serial killer that had thrown her last victim to the river Nile and now he was being eaten alive by crocodiles or something and now she was going "off to the next one"
