I've never seen that before! I wonder if that was just a local play she was auditioning for, or if it was something bigger. I'm guessing she didn't get the part though because the only plays I remember she mentioned being in were Godspell and You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Or at least those are the ones we know she was in.

This is what the director wrote about it:
In 1999 Avril Lavigne auditioned for a part in a my no-budget production "Discovering Emma". She was 14 at the time, and had just performed with Shania Twain in Ottawa. In November 2000, Arista signed her to a deal after hearing her sing in New York. This is an interesting look at her before she became famous, and before she released her album "Let Go" in 2002. She didn't get the part, but she did a good job delivering the lines. I found her audition on an old VHS tape I was about to toss out. The picture is a bit grainy, and I cut it down to 5 minutes. The original full-length (VHS & DVD) is available to interested parties. (William van Asperen ©1999)

BTW, have you seen the video in the second post of this thread? I still can't get over the cuteness that Avril shows there! Yeah I've seen it, it's funny to see how shy she used to be  Omg yes, the making of TBDT always makes me laugh. I remember the first time that I watched it, when I just became a fan. I think I rewatched the lemoncello part 10 times in a row at the time, and then I listened to the song to see if it was really there. I remember being surprised to hear it, I thought it was just a joke Avril was making in the documentary  |

Does any old fan remember these videos? Avril brought The Bonez Tour to Manila in 2005 with Simple Plan. The whole concert was televisioned but it never leaked on internet and a fan filmed with camera from TV. This seems to be at the same time of Budokan concert but the setlist was way better. I dream that one day somebody from Phillipines will put it online for us! It would be great to have "Things I'll Never Say", "I Always Get What I Want" and "Song 2" videos live from Bonez in high quality!!! I still remember that these amateur videos were one of the first Avril's stuff available on YouTube. This is crazy.

MY FAVORITE ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE EVER <3
Avril live and acoustic at Torino 2006. That year was so boring with all her fashion photos and news about the marriage with Deryck. I remember how exciting it was to hear "Losing Grip" acoustic for the very first time. We could have never imagined that "Keep Holding On" and all that pink phase were coming! The concert was amazing and her vocals was better than never just as Bonez Tour 2005 performances.

The whole concert was televisioned but it never leaked on internet I've noticed a lot of times while watching fan recorded concerts on YouTube that there were people professionaly recording it for TV but they never broadcasted it or it never leaked on the internet. There must be so many great recordings of Avril concerts that just wait to be leaked on the internet. That just drives me crazy. I want to see them all! |
