I was wondering the same about whether Avril will be mentioned much in Daryl’s autobiography. I can’t really see it revealing a lot about their relationship and their divorce. They are still friends and she is so so private, I doubt she would want everything being revealed and I think he will respect that. But I am interested to see how she is discussed.

The song doesn't fit at all but at least the show seems interesting. Maybe the show will be a bit more light hearted and lots of nostalgia and maybe then complicated could fit it better, but this trailer...LOL it's too dark and moody for complicated. Maybe losing grip idk...😂

Maybe losing grip idk...😂 Dang, I never thought I'd see Complicated used in a crime drama. Maybe Netflix wanted to create an uneasy juxtaposition between carefree teenage life and crime? Also, I feel like the year 2002 would've been a better setting for this show as Let Go had just come out. Was Complicated still on the charts back in 2003? Imo Netflix needs to make the 2003 scenes in standard definition to better reflect the era |

It's a pity for Deryck that he went through all this. It's so terrible that many celebrities had to remain silent and suffer for so many years.

That's interesting re the cheating rumours, and him choosing not to believe them rather than saying they weren’t true. They’re still friends so I guess either they weren’t, he still doesn’t know or they just got over it lol
Also hope anyone here who lives in the hurricane path in Florida is safe!!

A couple of our dinner reservations are canceled but hopefully that’s the worst of it. We at least know we’re in good hands here and we stocked up on supplies for our hotel fridge. 🤞🏻 Re the article: Interesting we finally know what happened. I guess not much, probably why we never heard much about it. I guess it’s good to know nothing dramatic happened, it sounds like it just fizzled out and it makes sense why Avril said at the time she didn’t want to date a rockstar again and why she and Chad didn’t go more than 2 weeks without seeing each other. The being apart while on the road has gotta be tough. |

She just had nothing left to give and it didn't matter even if he did everything right, that love had just faded. The lyrics of Not Enough and Remember When show it pretty well. Stay safe in Disney World. That hurricane sounds scary but Disney is probably one of the best places to be if you've got to stay. Hope it isn't too bad for you and you still enjoy your honeymoon |

Yeah, seems like their relationship fizzled with distance and there was a lack of communication going on from what I could tell. I listened to some of his book. He starts talking about her in Track 12. And what I gather is being famous sucks.
One thing I found interesting is we almost didn't get the In Too Deep performance. His band never liked her so he thought they would think it lame to perform their song with her (they did) but he did it anyway because he was fixing their marriage at the time. I found it funny that the guy who hated her the most worked on her album but he seemed like an ass the rest of the book too. Basically got the feeling she didn't fit into the pop punk scene back then at all. He tells the story of an event where Sum 41 performed ahead of her and he debated on giving it his all for a second, but went out there and killed it. He felt bad the audience was really quiet during her set and the guy from Pennywise told her she did good after. The boundaries we put on music back then was really lame. I'm glad she's getting her flowers now in the pop punk community.

being young and rebellious, "the lead singer and face of the group gets married" i can see how some immature boys will see that as a threat to the band. I find it REALLY hard to believe they didn't like her as a person when she mostly has male friends. So i'm assuming it was more of a poser thing and acting "cool" or whatever they tried to do...jealousy maybe, idk.
She indeed was considered a joke in the rock community back then... literally everywhere, i still remember my classmates that listened to rock music making fun of her... LIKE....the poor girl was just minding her own bussiness and everyone hated her. JEEZ 😂😂

The prevailing critique was that she was a prep who was pretending to be a punk rocker. She certainly didn't help her case when admitting that she didn't recognize the name Sid Vicious  Still, she was just a kid. To her credit, she never really called herself punk. There was a bit of gatekeeping going on. It's interesting that, over 20 years later, her early years are remembered more positively by the general public, partially fueled by nostalgia |
