What makes it seem like such a long time is her inactivity. Ariana, Katy, Rita, they’re all much more active online and it breaks up the time spent waiting between first single and album drop.
Whereas you have Avril, who drops a single and goes silent for months lol.

I think HAW did well in terms of sales considering how little promo it had and even with just one performance that wasn’t even the whole song it returned to the iTunes Charts at a pretty high number. But apparently her streams are not good and the chart position on Billboard peaked at like #64 or something, extremely low in comparison to her other lead singles. So it’s not about even comparing her to other artists but comparing her to herself. That being said, the lack of promo is to blame but we don’t know if the lack of promo is because BMG is a smaller label or Avril isn’t healthy enough to do lots of promo or what. I really think if some people are getting THIS upset and angry about it they probably need a break. It’s just an album. Yeah they are handling things poorly and the numerous delays are irritating but it’s just an album. It’s not a matter of life and death. Chill out. If you act this way in all matters of life you have a problem. It’s not just with Avril, you have an anger issue if stuff like this really winds you up this much. Maybe take a break and chill out and get some perspective or something. If she releases a Christmas song or EP it probably won’t be that successful if they don’t promote it but at this point in her career I don’t think Avril or her fans should be that overly concerned with commercial success. She releases music because she enjoys it and she loves Christmas music. She already had her time on the charts and being successful. She probably doesn’t care about it anymore but just wants to make music she enjoys. Who knows, it could even be an original Christmas song which would technically count as new material. lack of promo or not lack of promo is not why its doing whats its doing. you can't make people buy and streaming is 30 million plus which is good for Avril. with 30 million plus streams people know about HAW. Avril releases music products because its her business its simple.

The thing is Avril's album has been done for months. The other thing is that she teases too much with no real information given. Plus all the teasing usually leads nowhere if it's not released weeks later after weeks of silence.

When she performed on DWTS it reentered the iTunes chart at a pretty high number. Clearly promo helps. You honestly don’t know what you’re talking about.

You notice the difference without a big management company and a Top 40 success driven label. I told everyone when she first signed this deal/ended things with Larry Rudolph for prepare for a different type of era and to lower commercial expectations. Head Above Water is a great song (one of the best ballads she’s ever done) and it got her name back out there. I am hoping for at least another single before the album and at least one after its release. She should've made an announcment with pre-order single and album in November and everything is good. Lana has a big label but she doesn't make that much promo. Honeymoon was released 1 month after the single!
True, but keep in mind that Lana posts constantly, including Instagram live stories of her singing yet-to-be released songs, long videos explaining her merch, etc. - I’m positive that keeping in touch with fans helps a lot and I wish Av would do the same. I mean... the very reason Lana became my fave in the first place was because Av disappeared for many years and I found something else. Anyway, even though we don’t have solid info, she’s definitely been posting more often lately and it’s a step in the right direction

How hard is it to release an album? Especially one that was started 4 years ago... If I hear “she’s sick” one more time, I swear... at this point it’s an excuse.

Guys, it's not just her decision, she's got a team and most importantly the label has a bigger voice on when and what to release... we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, but the fact that we know the album will be out in February is already something
Maybe they'll tell us some things that happened during this time and why the album is being released in February 2019 and not earlier once it's out... if not, it's still fine, we'll have new music to listen to

Agree it’s not her choice when the album is released, but it is her choice to post absolutely ziltch on social media. Her communication is shockingly poor and that’s 100% her fault.

Her precense on social media is lame. Yes, her team is responsible for the album release and promo, but the fact that she has been more absent on Instagram now than before the era started is almost ironic. That’s all her doing, not her label’s. She used to be much more active on Twitter back in 2011-2012 and knew VERY WELL how to use it. Has she forgotten it? No. She just doesn’t want to, just as she doesn’t want to give more information on the album or look more excited about the whole thing. I feel she just doesn’t feel like doing anything, tbh. She doesn’t care about interacting with fans anymore as much, and that’s just sad.

Avril's Employees in my opinion are not deciding release dates or her team as you say. There is a reason why they are called Employees.

People who work at BMG are BMG's employees, not Avril's. Avril is also an employee of BMG in a sense. They can choose to release her album or not. They can choose to end her contract if they want. She is not their boss. I don't think you understand how the artist/label relationship works.
