She also said there is a bit of jazz and soul to it, if the translation didn't fail on me

A German inteview, yay!!! BMG having its headquarters in Germany, I'd hoped Avril would finally get some more recognition there, and the rest of Europe. Looks like it's really happening. 😄 That interview is really sweet. And a tiny bit of information on the album: - there's one track with "loud electric guitars" - jazz and motown influence - voice in foreground - diverse Yeah, it does sound a lot like GL. I'm not so sure about the jazz influence. I'm really not a fan of jazz, but idk, I might not mind some influence, as long as it's not too heavy. I honestly don't know what motown is, I need to google that . "Diverse" makes me a bit worried to. Wasn't AL also described as diverse, or is my memory fooling me? Well, despite all the slight worries I just mentioned, I really enjoyed reading this article and I'm a bit more excited for the album now. Btw, I can translate the entire interview if you guys like.

Well that there are some jazz influences isn't new info. But nice to have it confirmed. That it is more vocal driven she revealed in her letter. But that vogue Germany interviews her is good. Motown Diana Ross & the Supremes The trio that would become famous as the Supremes -- Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard -- met in the late '50s in Detroit's Brewster housing project.

She still didn't say a date?
I'm not liking this diverse description but as long as it's cohesive and not like AL, I can live with it.
Motown is a group from the 60s. Like soul kind of music from what I googled.

In the 1960s, Motown and its subsidiary labels (including Tamla Motown, the brand used outside the US) were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as the Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence.

It's four fridays in February 2019, so album might drop on 1,8,15 and 22. Alhought my guess is 29... Lol Not a reliable source, but the Daily Mail reported February 20th so we’ll have to see if they’re right. Agreed, Daily Mail is known to be biased and inaccurate with their articles. That's why I don't look up to them. But other than that, we'll definitely need to wait in order to find out.

I doubt she's using the word "diverse" in the same way she was in AL. Back then she meant it was literally all over the place, from rock to EDM songs. Now, I think she's talking about adding different elements to the songs. Some may have a jazz feeling, others a more mellow, piano-driven feel, others a more guitar-driven sound, but I don't think she's saying "there're jazz songs, rock songs, ballads, pop songs". I feel the album will remain in her (softer) pop-rock roots, but with some different influences here and there. Actually, the album sounds really coherent by what she's described up to now. All of her albums have been diverse, anyway.
What I'm not too happy about is the fact that this points to be an album like Goodbye Lullaby. It's exactly the same description: voice being the main instrument, stripped down, soft, basic production. And I think those were the big problems with that album. I loved it at first, but the flaws started to leak more and more after some time, and I realized it was a rather boring album, with most songs sounding pretty much the same, as if it was one reeeeally long ballad. I hope she proves us wrong, and has some more pop-rock uplifting songs like Who Knows or Fall To Pieces. I hope this "reboot" doesn't mean "old Avril is dead" crap and that it still has the classic Lavigne signature on it.

Love jazz, love motown, love loud guitars and raw music. Fuck me up, Ramona, I'm ready.
Her description sounds like Let Go on steroids meets her original vision for GL + new sounds. Which I love.

She should've made an announcment with pre-order single and album in November and everything is good. Lana has a big label but she doesn't make that much promo. Honeymoon was released 1 month after the single!
True, but keep in mind that Lana posts constantly, including Instagram live stories of her singing yet-to-be released songs, long videos explaining her merch, etc. - I’m positive that keeping in touch with fans helps a lot and I wish Av would do the same. I mean... the very reason Lana became my fave in the first place was because Av disappeared for many years and I found something else. Anyway, even though we don’t have solid info, she’s definitely been posting more often lately and it’s a step in the right direction That's true I moved on to Taylor Swift as my main fave since 2014.
