[ALBUM THREAD] The Head Above Water Thread

With this back to her roots thing, I think more about an album like Let Go rather Goodbye Lullaby. A mainly pop record, with a few hint of rock and the addition of new influences like Jazz.

I also have more Let Go vibes, rather than GL ones... I love both albums so it's cool anyway for me haha. I think the jazz and Motown vibe are interesting to update her sound and bring some new flavours to the current music industry

Thanks so much for translating! She’s having a laugh with the bit about social media but the rest sounds good. Like others have said I hope the album has a bit more to it than GL. Hate that album.

When I think of Motown influenced songs. I think Kelly Clarkson or "tell me you love me" by Demi Lovato. They really pull that voice off and I think Avril will too. I've actually been waiting for the day that she does a song like that too. Her voice fits it. But she's always been stuck in her pop punk roots.

I'm expecting the kind of production she had for Stop Standing There, Darlin', Everybody Hurts, Give You What You Like... which are some of her best work in my opinion.

I agree that having the month it's not enough. Specially since all of these announcements were made by everyone but Avril or her label. I know about February because someone mentioned here that they said it in DWTS. But what happens when you live outside the US?

Of course them mentioning it's a good reminder but for the non US citizens it's as if they have never said it.

At this point given that we won't get an album this year, all I want from Avril is more communication. It doesn't take much time or energy for her to do a short Instagram Live singing a bit of HAW or her just talking about whatever she feels like.
