That’s not what they were asking lol.

My only issue with the cover is that she’s naked... I just feel like Let Go Avril would scoff at this. It comes across as “sex sells.” On the flip side, I don’t think I should shame a woman for revealing her body. Besides, I’m sure it’s representational of a rebirth/baptism. So I get the message, I just think the negative outweighs the positive.
The editing is also really bad... I’m hoping they rushed this out because of the leak, but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have submitted it to China before it was done. Besides, it would need to be done in a week anyway.
How hard would it have been to take this picture at the bottom of a pool? Surely that would have been cheaper than all this PhotoShop? Doesn’t look real.
On the flip side, I like that she kept the black and white theme, and I’m getting Goodbye Lullaby vibes, which was also a pretty cheap cover with no scenery. Overall Avril has pretty boring covers... AL5 is her worst, no contest, and I think TBDT is also pretty cheap. UMS is simple, but striking. So besides LG and GL, this is the only one with a theme... so it’s one of my favorites. I especially LOVE the acoustic guitar... really is anothe great nod to the piano on GL. I like the LG cover, but it’s pretty simple, so I would probably say this is my second favorite cover of hers 🤔 For me personally if she were clothed and she wasn’t on a green screen, it would have been a home run for me

I was looking at the tracklist again on Wikipedia with the co-writers listed, all are known except Goddess: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_Above_Water_(album)

I think it’s very strange that she worked with guys like Rotem and Zane for months yet only 1 song each made the cut. Travis originally said 3 of their songs made the cut, but HAW is the only one on there. Most of the songs seem to be the new ones she wrote with Mitch Allen during their last months in the studio. There is hardly any consistency with the writers. I hope this won’t be all over the place again. Then there’s the 2 songs Avril wrote and produced herself. I wonder if she cut many of the original songs she wrote before she worked with Mitch. She worked on way more than just 1 track each with Travis, Zane, and Rotem. There are just random writers on every song, Ryan and that Melissa girl, Lauren Christy... and side note, no Chad songs made the cut either. I wonder if she just didn’t feel those songs anymore because she wrote them years ago and instead replaced them with newer material.

The world needs more Jesus of Suburbia or Bohemian Rhapsody kind of songs. These songs tell stories in a way that always leaves me full of emotions whenever I hear them.
