They have been very strict here in South Africa....
I was not at work for almost 3 months since I work in the hospitality industry... Just starting to go back now to help with take away orders. They are going to open for sit down now. Loads of rules though. We started at level 5 lockdown and are now only on advanced level 3.
You get sanitized at practically every public door you enter and wearing a mask is mandatory if you are in public. Public transport is open now though. And most shops. Schools are easing in a few grades at a time. My dad and stepmom refuse to send my 12 year old brother though (he is in one of the first grades allowed back). She is asmatic and he gets chesty when sick so they are sighting medical reasons. He is doing online schooling with a neighbour.

This Coronacrisis is like a nightmare, it keeps stretching into infinity, and when you think one episode is over, it all repeats. I'm going to be first in line to get the damn vaccine, that's for sure.

Itâs becoming the Armageddon we all feared back when some here argued it was âmuch ado about nothing.â Look out Europe, you chastise America but your 2nd wave is unfortunately right around the corner.

We'll see. We have a "golden rule" of no more than 10 new cases per 100k population, so some small regions in Spain and Germany have already been subjected to these microquarantine tricks. Major problem is 'shitfest' that the Balkans are, Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia have no credible government, and borders between them, and with Croatia are porous, because sharp closures can quickly bring violence. They are hence now exporting a lot of cases north, either through Gastarbeiters going back and forth, or potentially via tourists visiting Croatian Riviera (hasn't been detected yet).

There's also an increase in percentage of positive tests total, so that element by itself doesn't solve the "riddle". If 330mil were tested at the same time, you'd get a mighty high spike in absolute number of cases, but percentage of total would drop remarkably, too.

I think itâs also necessary to emphasize that a spike in cases does not necessarily equal a spike in hospitalizations. A lot of people could have it but not badly enough to require hospitalization. A friend of mine had it months ago and said she lost her appetite for a week, along with sense of taste and smell. May have broken a fever at one point in the middle of the night. She lives with her parents, her mom had the same symptoms, father had none. All 3 tested positive, none required hospitalization. One had no symptoms at all, the other 2 you could classify probably as âmild.â They recovered in 1-2 weeks. Iâm not necessarily that concerned about increase in cases, but rather the number of severe cases or hospitalizations.

If 330mil were tested at the same time, you'd get a mighty high spike in absolute number of cases, but percentage of total would drop remarkably, too. There's no real "riddle", in my mind. We know a lot more than we did early on. It's not killing young healthy people. Now that things are opening up, they are engaging in behaviors that are conducive to the spread. No mystery. It's not killing old people, because they are old. It's killing old people, because as a group, they tend to have more health problems than younger people. It didn't kill me. I had a slight fever, for a couple of days. I had a slight cough, for three or four days. I was very sleepy, for a couple of weeks. I turn 68 this month. The only health problems I have are, my blood pressure is a little high and my cholesterol is a little high. My vitamin D level is a little low. I take my two pills and a vitamin daily, and those things go away. I don't wear a mask anymore, because I'm immune. At least, for a while. But, I'm with you. I will get the vaccine when it's available. I posted the meme, because it made me laugh.

Well, we really can't lock everything down for another half a year, not without an economic collapse, but personally I'd like to keep those numbers low because high transmission increases likehood it'll get to vulnerable folks, and I'd not want to cause anybody any trouble, so I wear mask, keep distance, and disinfect hands, etc. Even though I do go to the store and cafe..

There have been cases of young, healthy people dying from it or at least having severe effects and after effects. Also cases of very old people recovering. Itâs not super common but generalizations that it doesnât kill young or healthy people is simply false. And no one knows yet if you are immune once youâve had it. It is too early to tell. You should still wear a mask in public and maintain 6 feet for the sake of others. They donât know youâve already had it. And thereâs no knowing if you could get it again.

Immune is a relative term here, for-life immunity is very unlikely, but for now we haven't got a single confirmed re-infection, so immune system has the ability to fend it off for at least 4-5 months. SARS/MERS gave those who survived a partial immune defence that lasted for more than a decade, so it's likely that even if people will get reinfected with this SARS2 (other name for covid19) one day, it'll be easier to get through it.
