AL7 Album Speculations Thread

So, ModSun and MGK were at Avril’s house today doing a photoshoot. I wonder what is going on!

And all of a sudden her hair is super long again haha. She doesn’t like giving things away does she. When the photosphere says to her tell them what we did today her response is “that’s a wrap”.

They were shooting the single cover and Mod’s promo pics for his album 🙂

I think they probably shot the single cover for their collab, but not sure if they shot anything just for Avril.

I hope if Avril is going all out with this “rock and roll” thing this era, that it’s done right and it’s done well and she doesn’t try too hard with it. The constant use of bullhorns and being like “heLL yA sooooo RAWK aNd ROLL BaTcH” is going to wear thin quickly and just looks cringey. She doesn’t need to look like some 14 year old girl discovering Guns N Roses for the first time.

Well besides that, it just would not be authentic. I look at someone like Miley for example, who has adopted this ‘80s rock sound for her new album but it doesn’t come across like she’s trying way too hard. You can tell she has fully immersed herself in that style, to the point she has changed her whole look, but she wears it well and you can tell she genuinely believes in that music. She said she was inspired by a ton of music from that era and that’s what she grew up on, it’s just an authentic part of who she is and not something she’s doing because she thinks it makes her look cool and edgy.

Part of what rock and roll is all about is living your most authentic life and being true to yourself. It’s not just about dressing up in certain clothes, throwing up a bullhorn or middle finger, and talking about how rock and roll everything is. That shit might have worked for her when she was still a teen artist and her fans were kids, we all ate that shit up, but now most of her fans are adults and so is she. Surface aesthetics won’t be enough, she’s got to be authentic about it for it to really resonate with people. It can’t just be an aesthetic or “lifestyle” for her.

She seems to be forcing that when in the past, her most rock eras were her just being her. I don’t mind the bullhorns and f#u as long as they come off as natural, like in the past. It’s so weird like sometimes it feels she was more mature in her first two eras with 18-22 than now lol.
