AL7 Album Speculations Thread

Modern sunshine was supossed to release the BONES official music video last week (it's already shot and ready to come out). After Karma, maybe he's focusing some attentiont to it and after Bones he may release the ft. with Avril. I'd be more than surprised if he postpones it bc of her. This girl always get what she wants but making us happy x.x

I really hope after all this buildup that the feature really is actually Avril. I can’t help but think we’re getting ourselves all hyped up based on some clues but no confirmed info and then it turns out it’s another artist.

Yes, avril is infinitely more popular than modsun. If the collaboration succeeds it will be thanks to Avril and Marshmello. That does not mean that modsun isn't a good musician but I think almost no one knew him until recently.

I totally get what you're saying. We've really been burned way too many times before, haven't we? Damn.

But I think we can safely get excited this time. Whatever is coming next has got to be the collab with Modsun. The fact that Avril announced something was coming in January with very specific emojis allusive to Modsun + the fact they worked together sorta last minute just in time for Modsun's album release + them doing a photoshoot together right after being in the studio... they are moving things along quickly, which in theory should only mean they plan on releasing it s**n.

Of course we know from experience that a million things still could go wrong  but the fact this is for Modsun's project and he's very good with constant song releases and interacting with his audience makes me ten times more hopeful that we're indeed getting a song from them next month.

As others have said, Avril is a much more well-known and mainstream name. Modsun has been in the game for quite a while, but never got even half the level of exposure Avril has had. That being said, I think it's pretty interesting to point out that he seems to be experiencing a peak in his career right now, whereas Avril's peak was a very long time ago. He also currently has a lot more credibility associated with his name than Avril, and that kind of thing is more significant than you might think.

Moreover, I feel like popularity these days has less to do with how many people know your name, but more so how many stories and headlines you can generate with whatever you do. That's really what determines how much visibility and attention your project is going to get and how well it will stick to an audience. Of course if you're an artist on Taylor or Ariana's level your name alone does the trick, but that is obviously not the case with Avril.

One very good thing about Modsun is that he's extremely well connected within the business and is deeply involved with artists and celebrities who are considered hot topics in terms of relevance and how much publicity they have around them. He's also very candid and has been in the type of controversies lately that all social media's algorithm eats up like candy. So all in all, I'd say this collab mutually benefits the both of them, perhaps more than one initially might assume.
