It seems like MGK, Travis Barker, ModSun etc have all worked together recently and Avril has been sort of absorbed into that group where they're all connected. That's nothing but a good thing to me. She seems so much more comfortable and natural in that environment and I think she lost that post TBDT

This is the most exciting thing to me, very excited, I'm pretty sure she will bring a Blink/MGK kind of album ..
At the same time, when this Collab ModSun/Avril comes out next month we will have an idea of the record because it won't be too different in style I think

I'm trying to stay positive by taking things one step at a time. For now, I'm excited about the collab coming next month. I hope it's a banger and that it's well-received so that it helps Avril feed off that positive energy and stay proactive and motivated to release her new album next year. It's easy for us fans to get consumed by the excitement about all of this because I think most of us have been waiting for Avril to return to a more rock driven sound for so long -- and in a way we had kinda lost hope that would ever happen again, which makes the excitement even more real. But then I can't help remembering all the times we've seen Avril seeming really stoked in recording sessions only to then scrap all the material and take ages to release any new music, so for me personally I feel like I really gotta manage my expectations and try not to get too ahead of myself. Hopefully January treats us well and we get an awesome new song with fresh new energy to start the year off right  And hopefully there's a really cool MV to go along with it and a few interviews that allow us to gain a better understanding of what's going on inside Avril's mind regarding her plans for 2021. I have a really good feeling right now about where things might be going, but I'm also cautiously waiting for more concrete info -- baby steps for me.  |

Avril bases her next release off of a one off single for the last few albums. GL had Alice and that flopped which was what put GL back under RCA to try and adjust it and then delay it. AL had HTNGU and RnR which released a lot earlier than the album and never really did anything as Epic tried to keep momentum going to sent her back for rewrites and delayed AL5. HAW... well we all know about those delays because she dated Rotem the scrtoum who ultimately had the better tracks for the album, which were scrapped for half baked AL substitutes. If this goes south, it’ll be back to the writing board and delay AL7 |

I hope that we don’t see her working with all these great collaborators for months and then she suddenly scraps everything and starts over, then 2-3 years later we finally get the album and it’s full of generic pop singles. |
