[SINGLE] 🔥 Flames 🔥 w/ Mod Sun

Finally the full story of how the Mod - Avril partnership began. Now I wanna know how she decided to keep Feldman as her producer.

"Last September, after a night out in Hollywood celebrating the release of Machine Gun Kelly’s Tickets To My Downfall, Mod Sun was driving the two back home when Kelly stuck his head out the window and -- seemingly innocently -- hit the front windshield. Except his ring managed to create a spiderweb crack, which led to Kelly kicking the whole thing in as he documented the stunt on Instagram Live. Not long after, Avril Lavigne ended up seeing what happened online and decided to follow Mod Sun. “So the first thing I do is DM her like, ‘Hi icon,” and she was like, ‘Oh my God, that s--t was the craziest thing I've seen on the Internet in the last 10 years. You guys are awesome.’”

That same week, Mod Sun had released “Karma,” the lead single off Internet Killed the Rockstar, and Lavigne was blown away. She mentioned that she was gearing up to work on a new album and was curious to hear more of what Mod Sun was working on, so he sent her album track “Flames” to which she replied with a voicenote. She ended up contributing to the song, becoming the only feature on Internet Killed the Rockstar; the acoustic version of the track is included on Mod Sun’s deluxe album.

“The song changed my life, but further than that it opened this whole space of us working together on music for her,” he says. “We’ve made a ton of songs together now. It's literally the dream scenario to work with her as a songwriter because I actually get to hear my ideas come out in full form, in the best possible way.”

Idk I’m choosing to take anything he says with a grain of salt. He claimed they were working so hard to make the acoustic video so special and it ended up looking like something any YouTube musician could do.

It would be sick if they managed to bring fire to the performance, but I doubt it. I'm just picturing an artistic looking background (maybe even painted by him?). Curious to see what it is, tho!
What I meant by trusting Mod was regarding the energy/passion he's likely going to bring to his TV debut. I'd love to see Avril having at least half of his passion, but the few chances she's had to show passion and energy this year have been kinda disappointing, so I'm not holding my breath for it lol.

At least there's something to look forward to this week. Who knows when we'll have anything new after that. ~sighs~

Yeah all this acoustic version, deluxe album, live performance should have happened months ago. Hopefully they learn from this and don't sit around waiting for stuff to happen anymore with future releases.

Pop rock is really coming back and it seems like Avril would be the last one to join the trend.... UGH, seriously, it's killing me to see all these artists doing it before her. I know it could be something good, kinda like all these other artists making pop rock popular again and then avril coming back to be succesfull but... i'm afraid she'll be burried under all these newer and younger and prettier and more appealing artists. 

I seriously don't know what the hell is she waiting for to release one freaking single...
