I am in love with the video! Yes, this is exactly what I expected! I actually wanted something between Sk8er Boi and He Wasn't and I must say I'm very happy with the results because she still has that Let Go era attitude and her Under My Skin looks.

As for the lip-sync, I guess you can't expect her to open her mouth widely or quickly at the beginning of the song because the sound and lyrics are low and smooth. I agree she may not be the best actress ever but what can you expect when the beginning of the song is so calm and smooth? We all know she isn't the best actress ever but she does a great job in the chorus. In fact, I've watched the video with no sound at all and I can say she vocalises properly. And of course, she isn't going to be as energetic and agressive as Mod Sun, but it's comprehensible. He wrote the lyrics, it's his story, his experience. Besides, it's his song and video. Like it or not, he's the protagonist.

Anyway, the only thing I don't like about the music video is the graveyard scene. The set reminds me of the one from I Fell In Love With The Devil, which looks cheap because the lighting isn't the best. I'm sorry but the gravestone here also looks awful. Other than that, I am impressed and delighted with Flames. I even got goose bump the first time I saw Avril and Modsun staring at each other while screaming pure gold.

Haha I thought it was so funny how she reposted his story and how supportive they still both are of each other. It was very amusing to see 😄

Considering how close she seems to be, I honestly wonder if we could get the first single as early as next month, maybe with album to follow in April, similar to the timeline of TBDT. But then I wonder what her incentive would be to release the album so soon considering live performances still can’t take place. I guess she could still do virtual interviews and performances for promo?

Such a shame that this will probably be her most live performance-friendly album in a long time yet she won’t really be able to perform anything for quite some time.

True but also, would she even play the songs live? Lol, I’d expect we’d get about 13 old songs and maybe 5 from the new album, and I’m being optimistic.
