I have just watched all Mod Sun videos in a row. Karma, Bones and Flames. I think the connection between all three and the story they tell is great. Visually cohesive and great to just look at. Plus, I feel it really gives a great closure to HAW following on from IFILWTD and pushes her into a new era and persona.
I can see little Easter eggs for both Avril and Mod Sun in the video for Flames, I don’t know if that was intentional for them both but if it was it’s a great idea. Or maybe it’s me just over analysing 🤷♂️ And I’m just waiting for the Joker and Harley Quinn comparisons 😂
But I especially love Avril’s iconic stare down she always gives us in her music videos.

Really a great video! It took me a bit back in time, like the early 2000s. Original and clever the beginning with the grave "Internet killed the rockstar". It's true that Avril lacks a bit of energy, but as you have already said, it has always been a bit of her "attitude" just think of the MHE video and many others.
I really like the part where the two of them are sitting respectively with piano and drums shoulder to shoulder. If Avril continues to work with this team, we could have many nice surprises. I would very much like her to continue on this path. I really miss the Avril from the first three albums, and given the results of this song, I could say that everyone missed it I think. Proud to have grown up listening to this artist. Now and forever!

I like the video, avril looks like UMS, everything was beautifull, video was little darker energetic, I just wish that there is little seconds more Avril on guitar

Is his album called "Internet Killed the Rockstar?" They start and end the video with the grave saying it and he has it on his shirt. Since it has nothing to do with the lyrics of Flames I would guess so.

I love the video.
Believe me, the gravestone thing is not related to Avril at all, for me it was so obvious. MOD used similar headlines in KARMA, and remember, he sings "she stay on the Internet makin it look like she happy" in Bones. So I instantly knew it was about him. Avril is there just to be there: be beautiful, be the feat, be her, the pulling name. I think in some ways the taxi represents his ex, and it may sounds odd but it can make sense if you watch his latest videos. He makes art to express himself. MOD is truly an artist and that's why I really love him. Avril is on another level in this question.
About Avril, she looks dope! And she has some moments in the video. There are some scenes when you can see that she really borrows or takes the energy from MOD. He makes a good impact on her. And damn, the chemistry between them! I literally had goosebumps, somehow I feel they look so great together. There's something untouchable floating around them. Great music video!

Ok...so i watched again and again and i kinda like it more now? But i still think she needs to go all in on her lead. Pretty sure she's coming with a super upbeat song so i need to really feel that rush and energy on the video. I feel like we're really getting close to that moment
Glad people are really here for her bringing back her old self. Modsun kinda stealing a perfect AL7 name tho 😂
Oh how i wish she could just end everyone with a melissa reference. Maybe there's a hint in there somehow that she will do it

I don’t know why, ever since Head Above Water, Avril seems to have forgotten how to lip sync in music videos? She barely opens her mouth! It frustrates the hell outta me, so I don’t think I can stomach watching the music video again. If I was the director, I’d just say to her “OPEN YOUR MOUTH” lol

I just noticed that at the end of the Bones video when Mod Sun lies down in the snow with the skeletons the video actually ends with us looking at a flower. Flames starts with that same flower but now it's wilted, it's snowing and then it pans back to presumably Mod Sun's bones and the tombstone. The skeleton even has like a little tuft of green (?) hair. Cool continuity!  |
