Maybe the song isn’t as “successful” as HAW, but I believe it’s made her viral again, which HAW didn’t. She’s been on Trends on Twitter for three days now, old school fans/casual listeners have given her a listen after probably more than a decade, and guess what? It’s not Melissa-related.
The video definitely gave the song a boost, and the aesthetic brought a ton of nostalgia to the table. It’s not even her song, and she’s already bringing more attention now than she did with the HAW or the AL era.
This is such a clear indicator that she’s on the right path musically and that this could be her most successful era since GL at least. Let’s hope we get the lead single for March and that she doesn’t wait till the hype dies down. It’s building up to be her year, yas!

I noticed that out of Avril's exes, Mod Sun follows both Deryck Whibley and Brody Jenner on Instagram. He made the correct decision on saying NO to Chavril.  Sorry for the late reply, but I was randomly thinking about this comment while eating today. Chad Kroeger doesn't have an Instagram. All the Nickelback guys share the Nickelback Instagram account, which surprisingly does not have many followers despite Nickelback being one of the best-selling Canadian rock bands. I'm thinking that's because most of the generation that likes them didn't grow up around social media. |

I know there were kinda close to each other(friendly)...but, we haven't seen them interact in a long time...Billie sceduled a vitrual consert same day as Avril did...and at the same date as "flames", she released her new collab...
propably theres nothing going on....but...you never know...there's no actual evidence

And the fact that they haven't been interacting isn't strange either. They don't seem to be close friends, Billie just seems to be a fan of Avril's, and they seemed to get along well when they met. That's pretty much all. So no, I highly doubt Avril and Billie had a falling out or anything like that.  |

It's either a coincidence or just release schedules kind of following a similar flow. I really doubt they'd have this secret feud when they only met like once and seem to acknowledge each other as cool and that was it? It's interesting how hard Avril's inclusion boosted the song given her diminishing popularity the last years. She clearly still has some traction if she sells herself a certain way and Mod Sun is now massively benefiting from that. Though maybe we also shouldn't forget the COVID effect? Many things currently perform much better than they previously would because people just have more time/attention and are spending it all on the internet while desperate for excitement and distraction. If she releases her lead in the next few months it's already set-up to get much more attention by default. Hope she delivers and it's a good song. If it's a bit generic or forgettable then you could actually end up with all this renewed attention immediately getting bored by it and moving away again. Can't forget that the bigger numbers of today also come with short attention spans.

I'm not surprised she doesn't comment...i mean, imagine how annoying can be to have always people commenting "yesss collab??" or fangirling about their friendship, it makes everything even weirder especially if they're not close friends SO...i would do the same, just so people would calm down a bit. Maybe they talk more in private which billie said Avril sometimes texts her SO....we can't know. Maybe she just got fed up with people saying she's a copy of Avril or that Avril is better or whatever thing IDK xD online people can ruin friendships. I'm actually surprised Evan didn't send everyone to hell with all the crap he's been dealing with from Avril fans to be honest. So....
