don’t think so, there’s a live performance coming. He has been saying this for a long time but continues to post about it, so there’s 2 things Avril is waiting, the performance and his album.

I don't understand why everyone here thinks Avril has total control over when she releases. Her record company is not going to release until they are ready to do so. Avril could want to release now or want to wait until Flames is done in the end it doesn't matter. Her record company will decide. BMG may give her more freedom than RCA but they still won't release anything until they feel it's ready. She is not Taylor Swift, she can't release whenever she wants. She needs to have time for her team to get the promo schedule ready. After the disastrous way HAW was promoted, her new team might be trying to do better this time around and have a decent schedule together.

I really don't get all the hate because her new single wasn't out on the first day of Spring. She said Springish/ Summer from the beginning. This isn't like GL where she said it would come out in Nov 2009 and it came and went with no new music. It's not an AL or HAW situation YET. If Spring passes into Summer and Summer passes into Fall with no new music or explanation from Avril then we can say well shit it's just like before.

Yes, she could communicate more but right now what is she going to say as far as AL7 goes? If she says hey the single is coming May 20 and then it doesn't she's got a hoard of angry fans on her ass. If she waits until it's closer and the date is more concrete then it's better for everyone. I also don't blame her for not posting as much on social media right now. If she posts something nonmusic related trying to interact with fans, fans get mad, if she posts about Flames which she is a part of, fans get mad. Why bother posting at all?

I also think fans wouldn't be shitting on Flames or Mod Sun half as hard as they are if she had released a single recently. They are mad because they can't have what they want now and are taking it out on Mod Sun and wishing ill of his success. Saying things like let his song die, it't not popular enough to promote any more, etc when it's the best his music has done in his entire career. It's getting ridiculous. This is a big moment for him and if Avril wants to support that after all the success she has had then it's a good thing.

Yes, there are things Avril could improve on but if she isn't and it's a problem for you please find someone else who makes you happy! There are lots of good artists who know how to use social media. For me personally, I'm just happy to get music when I get it and not worry about the things I can't change about a person I don't even know. I don't know what's going on in her life. I don't know for sure if she is lazy or working super hard behind the scenes and not saying anything. Why assume the worst? I chose to buy her music anyway it's not like she makes me do it.

I'm also not saying that anyone who complains about Avril isn't a fan or whatever. I just think things are being way overblown right now. People are angry because of what's happened before, but we are not at that stage with this new album yet. 

All of that is true but they also hyped this video for several weeks, saying they wanted it to be something “big” and it ended up just being an average performance video. Most people are here to support Avril, not Mod. She can’t expect every fan to care about his music just because she’s on one song of his. I don’t blame him for continuing to promote the song as it’s still climbing the charts, but I also don’t blame Avril fans for being sick of it 4 months later especially when we are waiting for new Avril music.

I just hope maybe by May we might finally have the single or at least a release date, June at the absolute latest. Like come on, she said this album was done like 2 months ago. Yeah she doesn’t have full control over the release, but I also think BMG doesn’t have as much power as people think either. As far as I know they really act more like a distributor. The only acceptable excuse I could see is that there maybe a delay getting physical copies printed, which is where she tends to sell better. But idk other artists don’t seem to have issues getting CDs made. All these excuses people come up with don’t seem to happen with other artists, big or small. It’s looking like the same pattern over and over and eventually the common denominator is Avril, not the label, not the collaborators, not her boyfriends.
