On the brink of the album’s two year anniversary, I had a listening party and keep thinking how good of an album it is to this day, even years after the hype died down. During the bridge of Avalanche, I just had to say “god, she didn’t have to go this hard and she still did it”. I still freaking love this album and consider it her second best work to date without a doubt. This is Avril at her finest sonically (literally no other sound goes better with her), and while it might not be her best lyrically (I consider it a step down from HAW in that regard) it’s still Avril being unapologetically herself and just giving us that much needed lyrically lighter album after the heaviness of HAW.
The album could’ve used a couple of more mid tempos and ballads. Honestly, IAM would’ve fit perfectly somewhere in between the first 5 songs, with another mid tempo to cut the uptempo-ness, and it could’ve been my all-time favorite album from hers.
The aesthetic is also one of her all-time best and I love everything about it. The color, the outfits, the album cover and even the hidden meaning behind the shadow of the balloons of the lovers kissing (I just know it wasn’t a coincidence lol)
We got signed CDs, great clothing merch, different CD versions, cassettes, cool bundles, and around 5 vinyl color variants. Such a pity she didn’t put them on pre-order from the get go, since it would’ve given her a much higher debut on BB200.
The era itself was a completely different thing, and neither the tour nor the promo or execution after album release week were decent enough or did justice to what it deserved.
With all this being said, happy 2 year anniversary to Love Sux, the album which put her in the spotlight after more than a decade and consolidated her as the ultimate queen of pop-punk. May the next record be on the same level (or at least half good tbh). I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy a new release of hers so much as I did this one, and I’ll be forever grateful this album exists. Once again, long live the Love Sux era.

Once again, long live the Love Sux era. Time flies right! It's such a good album for me too. The lyrics may not be the most poetic (which it didnt need to be since she wanted a light-hearted album) and there isn't a song that stands out like Girlfriend/Complicated/Sk8er Boi did before, as a whole album I think it works. Cohesive and the energy, the attitude, it's so Avril and so infectious in a good way. To me it's like an older sister of TBDT, with more life experience and reflection on the pain that life brings in an unapologetic and rebellious way. It's definitely in my top 3 Avril album: TBDT - HAW - Love Sux. I still come back to this album frequently to this date.

I do think Bite Me, along with Avalanche, are the strongest songs in the album, and Bite Me is the best choice they could’ve done for a lead. I even think it’s her best lead single to date. But yeah, it didn’t really make as much noise as those songs did back in the day, but I blame it more on timing, due to the fact that it was released when both Taylor and Adele were occupying like 50% of the BB100 chart with their album tracks. She didn’t really stand a chance to get a solid charting position. If she had released it halfway through the year, I’m pretty sure she would’ve had at least a Top40 hit.

I always find myself going back to LS very oftenly, almost on a daily basis, they are very easy listens, and that's ok. It's just a solid album, the lyrics are not even that bad, just funny sometimes and simplistic but it's definitely not her worst work lyrically. They serve it's purpose in a heartbreak themed pop-punk album, with some lyrics being actually very funny or sweet.
I'm on the side of the fandom that likes most of the unpopular songs from this album, like I love it when you hate me, break of a heartache, and 2 of my favorites: kiss me like the world is ending and all i wanted.
The only song i really hate (and i pointed out this already) it's dare to love me. But ignoring that song, the album is just solid. And i agree with the visuals, it was a pleasure to see her put some effort and logic in the outfits and visuals. Overall i enjoyed the era very much.
I just wish for the next one we get a new genre, even if it's country, but at least the same promo (or better if possible) and even better visuals.

I like the documentary she posted but why are they only sharing this now 2 years later? Why not after the tour had ended?
I hope this is not all there is to the documentary she's been supposedly working on. Maybe this is a teaser and signaling it's almost ready for release?

I would not be shocked if we are getting the doc in May right before tour begins

Can we talk about how they missed a great opportunity to sell the Bite Me leather jacket with the lyrics and album tracks on it? I would’ve snatched one of them right away off her webstore.
Would’ve also been cool to get limited edition replicas of the white guitar with the tracklist written on it.

Abbey Dawn not being more inspired on her clothes rather than some random saftey pins and her name on it will always be a crime. The whole Love Sux wardrobe is amazing, I'm a big fan of her I love it when you hate me visuals. Very on point. She could've made a special line for both man and woman.
Some pants inspired on her skirt from the mv?? Oh yes.
But nah, why woould she do that when we obviously want an I fell in love with the Devil notebook. OBVIOUSLY.
Also, she should relax with the prices a lil bit and make it more affordable for everyone. She could sell much more if she had better items and less pricey, or at least something i don't have to pay 100 dollars just for shipping.

i know... i'm not saying they should go aliexpress type of cheap BUT something more affordable for everyone and more accesible for the rest of the world, not just north america </3 free shipping or something if she doesn't wanna change the prices lol.
But anyways!! the era had great visuals, she should've made more clothes inspired by it. I think she had an interview and the interviewer actually said "are these for sale? you should sell these" and she was like "really?" or something like that, kinda clueless of what the fans want lol

It probably would have been very expensive to manufacture multiples of those leather jackets. That’s probably one of the reasons they didn’t.

Probably it's just a decision of whoever is in charge to choose the prices. It's quite commonly known that the tickets as well are quite expensive and i don't think Avril herself really spends time to personally take decisions about it. And, as said, even for the Swift store it's quite the same thing. I'd say that these are considered the "rules of the game".
