But I don’t get why the artist would intentionally leak their own work for free? Why not just release it and get the streams/money? The only reason people have given is that it creates buzz. Plus there were other leaks that happened this year from previous albums that there’s no way Avril would have chosen to leak herself.

I still don’t know how leaks happen and I kinda want to know what Avril thinks of that. I mean, she must know those other LS songs are out there?
But we will never hear her say something about that I guess.

Like they can track the amount of her social media followers who are commenting about ‘Joker’ or ‘Teenage Nightmare’ etc. Also, they can test the waters with new sounds and see the reactions of the fans to gauge before making a big commitment to release something on streaming platforms. |

Teenage Nightmare is so good. I honestly have no idea how they managed to make a song shorter than PP or BOAH sound much more complete and longer. I wish the other shorter songs had this structure. Technically it's short, but it's a complete song from start to finish. The lyrics are also amazing. It's like My World 2.0.
It should've come out as a stand-alone single in June, along with the anniversary of LG.

I think the lyrics are good as like a first draft but they probably could have added more to tell her story even more in depth. The bridge is also too repetitive.

Finally go to hear Rock Boyfriend. It sounds like an unfinished song? There are really long parts without any singing and it feels like some "sound effects" or Avril's nah nahs etc would have been added here and there if it was finished. And sounds like it could use more guitar for a song with the word rock in it. After hearing this song I seriously doubt Avril could have released these songs on purpose. And then there are also those purely instrumental leaked songs.

I don't think Marshmello ever sang in his songs? He just does the music.
Anyways if the song was meant to be for the MGK's movie, probalby it had to be this way. Maybe they had planned it to put in a part of the movie where something happened and "the long music" without singing was necessary. In a part where the spectator had to focus on what was happening in the movie and it was just required a cool music without lyrics in the background. Maybe it's not even unfinished, just intended to be this way, but they scrapped it anyways. Who knows.
