I think her fanbase is also pretty stuck in the past. I can't stand to see another person asking her for UMS 2.0. as if that was this masterpiece record or something. Like, why ask for a 2.0 version of whatever past record and not for something completely different? Amen to all what you said. I don’t want any 2.0. versions. It was fun when she mentioned a back to back album with LS she wrote so much but if she wanted that she should’ve released it sooner. Like Taylor did with Folklore and Evermore. i like to see Avril go in different directions, I don’t know how she thinks about pleasing the GP or her fans..but sure thing is she can’t do both I guess? How all artists are, not everyone will be happy sadly. |

Looks like she's pretty much doing a festival tour in Europe next June. Maybe fitting some solo shows in between

Call me pessimistic but I don't see her doing solo shows next year or even releasing a lead single before the festivals tour. I see this festival tour as a way of keeping relevant and active between eras. She's just toured Europe few months ago and it's been just 1 year since she toured her biggest markets like Brazil, Japan, etc. She's not that popular to do a proper tour 2 years straight in the same countries and make it cost-effective, since her audience is composed in a big percentage of casuals who won't attend or travel to see her if they already had seen her less than one year ago, with the production costs a new tour needs. Furthermore we have no solid news of new music coming, it's been a while since she doesn't even say the word "soon" (and when she says soon it still means in months lol), only random comments about getting in the studio or making new music, nothing too solid to think about getting new music in the short term. My bet is the potential new album will be released in the second semester of 2024 and a proper worldwide tour in 2025.

There's no point in waiting even longer; she's been working on the album for more than a year, and even if she adjusted some things since February, it wouldn't take longer than June to be ready. She's not having label issues or anything like that this time around. I still believe Lead is coming very early next year, because it's the best time for radio to add her to their rotation since there's no big competition yet. So I stick to my February/April timeframe.
