I follow Nate Smith’s insta acct …love his song World On Fire + I’m a fan, anyways, he did a Q & A a few days ago on his stories & funny enough someone asked if he could do a future collab with anyone who would it be… take a guess??? lol & yes, he most definitely said Avril, so here we are.. I’m thinking this was a work dinner, idk, maybe they’re gonna release something tog soon.. 🤷♀️ I knew it Her following a bunch of country singers, a country manager, talking about a country duet, and now going on a dinner with a country hitmaker. 🤠 |

I only just found out there was even going to be a documentary. I just looked it up and apparently it was announced in March and it’s going to be on Disney+. All along I thought the Sk8er Boi movie was the only film-related project she was working on.
From what I’ve read it sounds like it’s going to be quite a deep dive into her life, and in particular her love life? As opposed to just focused on her music career. Not sure how to feel about that but I’m curious about it regardless.

All the artists who have recently released a Documentary, have dropped it around a new project to support. For Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish have been the new albums/new eras.
If Avril plans to release a physical Greatest Hits, along with the digital format and the Tour which is going to be extended worldwide, releasing a Documentary along with this project would just make sense. We know for sure "thousands of Hours" have been filmed already and they already have a distributor apparently (Disney+).
The documentary will be about Avril career through the years and will include some iconic moment like the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, maybe it's just me but releasing if for her Greatest Hits makes even more sense than for AL8. So many Greatest Hits like Guns n Roses' or AC/DCs are always in the charts worldwide, for these legacy artists they sell even better than the new albums, so making a good promo for the GH at this point would just be better imo.

Maybe the next album will be kind of like self-titled, in the way that she’ll do multiple genres and styles of music without sticking to one main sonic theme. Some pop-punk songs, some pop-rock songs, maybe something really experimental like Hello Kitty and a few country/country-influenced songs. If AL8 will be country/country-influenced, I could picture an Avril country album consisting of songs similar to Falling Fast, which has slight country influences and imo has always been a very underrated song in her discography. I always liked falling fast quite a bit ... it's so delicate and pretty . |

The Darkness released a documentary under the same production company behind Avrils in November. That was 3+ years in the making. Avrils talks started late 2021 and it didn’t seem to kick off fully until 2022. It not being released by now is very normal - no reason to think it’s been scrapped. If it follows around the same timescales as The Darkness’, releasing mid-later this year would be great timing with the GH tour.
I did notice in one of her interviews the other day she said she’d recently been through her archives of music video outfits - wonder if that was part of the filming?

Bringing back the old outfits would be really fun, but I think I’d prefer if they did something like Taylor where they can make new outfits that pay homage to past iconic outfits she’s worn without being the exact piece itself.
