Off topic, a bit niche and random but today started the Drag Race EspaΓ±a all stars season and Drag Sethlas used the opening instrumental of I Fell In Love With The Devil for the start of their talent show!

Yeah she doesnβt go to the Grammys unless sheβs nominated, which hasnβt happened in literally 20 years, or performing (she only performed once in 2003), or presenting. You have to be invited.

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day posted a video on Instagram Stories, this is just a screen shot of it.

Grammy Award is a joke. Boygenius "Not Strong Enough" won the Rock Performance category. I love Boygenius & Phoebe Bridgers, but their songs are no different than Billie Eilish, it's mellow and no rock. And Paramore "This Is Why" also won the rock category, when it's sounds like pop song.
And if Avril really want to get nominate in Grammy again, stop making songs about couple's love. She can do songs like Nobody's Home/Keep Holding On instead, the Grammy people love these kind of songs.

Also Iβm not trusting Grammys with that they literally nominated WAP. The Grammys donβt give a shit about Avril and havenβt since 2003 and honestly we need to accept that sadly

I wouldn't say the Grammys academy hates Avril these days.
Maybe they did in the past, especially after 2004 when she didn't attend the ceremony despite being nominated for three categories (if I'm not wrong).
Honestly, I think her relationship with the academy nowadays is at least decent. However, it's also necessary to invest in campaign efforts to be nominated, and I'm not sure she's actually doing it properly. By the way, we cannot forget that she recently performed at the Grammy's Museum, was interviewed by the Grammy site, and presented an award category.
She's trying... maybe it's not enough. Paramore had a massive campaign (even using not pretty nice means, like saying they are disbanding - which implicitly says 'this is your last chance to award us'...; they also released a remix album full of critically acclaimed artists during the voting period; not to mention the 'for your consideration' banners in music magazines). Avril needs to know where the voters are and be noted by them. Does Avril want to do it? I'm not sure... but let me tell you something: many big artists, like Adele and Harry Styles, distributed tickets for Grammy voters during their last tours in the US. I don't see Avril doing it to be remembered, but I wouldn't mind.

I feel like HAW could have won song of the year if she tried cuz of how besautiful that song is (and i think wouldve been 2019 grammys right) Yeah 2019 the song itsekf i think it could have easily won I mean Shallow didnt even win and that was big competiton. But its also a popularity contest now a days

But its also a popularity contest now a days I think HAW wouldn't be fully supported by Gospel voters, despite being a smash hit on gospel radios. She could've be seen as an outsider. Also, she clearly abandoned the narrative of releasing a gospel song - and started to promote it as a HAC song -, a few months after the album she released "I Fell In Love With the Devil," facing a slight backlash from an strict Christian audience. I don't think she would be supported in the most obvious field for the song (gospel). Maybe she could've tried pop and rock categories first to gain traction for a B4 nomination. By the way, this is just speculation. HAW is still an amazing song.

HAW is a great song but itβs not SOTY worthy. At best she could have gotten Best Contemporary Christian Song or something but itβs possible she wasnβt able to submit it in that category since she isnβt officially a CCM artist. It wouldnβt have been fair to the actual CCM artists in that category.
I donβt think the Grammys hate Avril, after all she performed at the museum in HAW era and sheβs always invited to the pre-party, and as noted before she presented not too long ago. But I honestly think her last several albums just havenβt been there, quality wise. I know a lot of crap gets nominated but at least in those instances they are still popular songs. Avrilβs last few albums were neither Grammy level quality or smash successes. Thereβs more to getting nominated or winning than just the music, that is only one small piece of the puzzle. You need to campaign and schmooze the voters and I just donβt see Avril playing that game. Maybe sheβll be lucky enough to get a lifetime achievement award someday. Look at how long it took Miley to finally get a Grammy. I think if Avril really wants one she has to start upping the level of quality of her music and campaign harder. Thereβs just no other way around it. I do think she deserves one at this point though. Maybe if she was able to pull out another IWY level song.

Love Sux is the most critically acclaimed album in her career, and debuted #9 on Billboard 200 and #2 on Alternative.
So it's surprising, to say the least, it didn't at least get nominated in the Alternative/Rock categories. Perhaps if the lyrics had been a bit more polished and clever she would've gotten a better chance. I also think the name of the album didn't help either lol. I personally think it's great, but I just can't see it as a contender for a Grammy nomination.

Speaking of campaign, i'd like Avril take notes of Taylor Swift's. Apparently she announced a new album, a release date, and it's title. In the middle of her acceptance speech. No "soon", no "middle of nowhere" and so on.. There's a reason that Taylor is very popular these days, and this is a part of it. THIS, is what a great campaign is, imo.
Sadly, i don't think Avril is going to be campaign-ing really hard anymore. I honestly think that she just doesn't bother. And it saddens me.
