Hi! We have a couple of days in Toronto on the way home from our honeymoon in June and thinking about renting a car and visiting Napanee for a little day trip. Has anyone been and is it worth doing? Is the pizza place still open (that’s my biggest concern lol)? I heard it shut but it’s not clear from google? What else should I see Avril-related?

I haven’t been, but I don’t think there’s tons to do in Napanee, unfortunately. There is her old high school that you could probably drive by but probably can’t go inside. And some hockey arena has a mini display of her. Other than La Pizzeria, that is probably about it. Some fans have also driven past her childhood home on Angus Drive but I always felt that’s a little creepy and invasive considering another family now lives there. Maybe just driving past would be ok.

I would say it’s worth it just to walk the streets they Avril did back then. Toronto is probably the nearest you will ever be to there so it’s probably now or never if you want to do it. |

Thanks guys! Good to know La Pizzeria is still going otherwise I wouldn’t bother. Will have a little mooch around and see if we can do like half a day there and half a day somewhere else. Also on that note, we also have ten days in Vancouver/road trip round British Columbia. If anyone has any recommendations pls message me, assume we have some Canadians on the forum  |

Hello! I went to napanee in 2003 and last august(came from minnesota). Yes there is all the avril pics in la pizzeria still and you can see her chair is signed (chair by register). Tell the owners why you are there, they pulled out special pictures for me. I talked to the icecream shop owner who knew her in highschool so that was a huge highlight and napanee brewery guy was talking to me bout the special beer they did with her permission. Theres a skatepark where i put an avril sticker on the half pipe, tell me if its still there! I went to her home and school and all the shops. Theres no other avril prints or lil things around (i asked all the workers hahah)

I was there this year in between Canada tour dates!!! The pizzeria is still there (but closed sundays I think - we accidentally went the day it was closed). We also went to the hockey arena thingy that stays open, and they basically have a window monitor where they have like some Avril stuff from back in the days and also her albums signed etc  we also went to drive by abbey Dawn signs and also on the road of her childhood house etc. It’s not that much to do but for sure worth a drive by. It’s something I really wanted to see when I was like 14-15 so it was very cool to get to see it one time in life |

Ahh thanks Amanda! I’m really looking forward to it now haha. I’m the same, wanted to go since I was so young but just never been in the right place. Will make sure we avoid Sundays!
