Eh im not mad about this. I haven’t got my hopes up for new music anyway because we only need to read the first post in the AL8 thread to see how much rubbish she talks lol. Better to be touring than a year of silence/occasional promises of new music that never happen, which is what I’ve no doubt we were in for in 2025

You're right, Maybe this tour Part Two is doing all 2025, from May to October/November. She'll add other legs so it will take her occupied for all the year.
Hopefully she'll release new music 2nd half of 2026. Let's see what she has in mind

Love how well she's treating her legacy and how she's thriving on this tour. But... No international dates have been announced (yet); No new material seems to be on the horizon (yet); Fans are left wondering what’s next... I'd rather wait for her next steps before celebrating too much. They’ll clearly announce international dates. This is just a victory run because she tour sold so well, she was given the option, round 2 of the states? And she said yes. She hasn’t sold out arenas in the states in 15 years before this tour, so smart move to do it while she can and the iron is hot again. Of course, it’s amazing career-wise. That’s far from a problem. It’s just that, so far, it feels a bit boring. It's indeed pretty good, but not exciting (yet).

She still has to bring this GH tour to Europe... She mainly played festivals.
I am happy that she seems to enjoy going on tour (more than some of her attendees lol). Staying up late, drinking with friends, singing some songs, probably visiting some friends here and there, maybe her new man is going with her. That's her thing.
I do think this means no new album in 2025. Or maybe a collab album with Simple Plan....?

This means no new álbum in 2025 lol. I hope she releases a new song at least. Or changes the setlist a little and performs some of the hits and Classics she didnt do on the first leg ( but we all know that wont happen lol)

A bit disappointed she skipped the Upper Midwest, not even a Chicago show, since I missed the 2024 leg. It seems like the dates are centered around the Eastern half of the United States and Canada, besides the festival in Las Vegas

I'm just sad that this probably means we won't get an album in a near future

She's probably doing the same thing she did with bite me and release the lead single at the end of the year and album in 2026. Not a fan of this schedule but oh well...

Idk why people are writing off the possibility of a new album just because of these tour dates. The tour is only from May to June so far. That leaves plenty of time for the rest of the year before and after to put something out, even if only a couple of singles? Who’s to say she can’t do both?

I share the opinion that it is sad that everything points to us being without an album in 2025. Plus, she has been touring for three years in a row, another US and Canada tour is probably too much without new music. I saw her in 2023 and this year and I won't be attending another concert next year if there is nothing new. I'm not sure if general public want to see her so many times...

Yeah, Bite Me Tour in Canada in 2022, then Love Sux Tour in 2023, GH tour in 2024 now GH again in 2025. It's totally understandable from her, but at the same time it seems like she kind of accepted the idea she's a legacy artist and people will remember her for her old hits so she's not even interested in making new ones .. also considering she doesn't perform live 90% of new material anyways so.. She will be or maybe already is like Guns n Roses or the "Kiss" who literally tour the world every year or two with kind of the same setlist every time without making new albums since ages. I'm not even complaining to be honest, but I wanted a new album in 2025, which means three years after Love Sux, now I have to hope one is coming after a 4-year gap cause I'm not that sure anymore tbh, after 4 years of touring you need some rest, writing, recording and just..relax.

Maybe she's releasing a deluxe version of the GH album (with something new on it?) even though 1 year later, that's very much her to do it

She also doesn’t need to tour every album. lol. Taylor released an album mid tour. She just added a new little section. Avril only plays 1-3 songs off the new record anyway, miswell expand the setlist with 1-2 new songs (the singles) and promote the new stuff along with the Greatest Hits.

I’m not really sure why anyone is surprised she’s tapping into the “legacy” artist brand. 7 albums may not be a lot but she is 40 and been at this since she was a teen. Her battle with Lyme didn’t help, it maybe even caused permanent health effects we don’t know about. The music industry has greatly changed from 10-20 years ago. Music has a much shorter shelf life than it ever has thanks to social media and short attention spans, with too many artists competing for such a small amount of attention/airtime. Music sales are down except for vinyls and unless your name is Taylor Swift. The pandemic put a massive pause on the live music industry.
The fact Avril has even managed to roll with all these changes as well as she has and is still here is pretty impressive when you think about it. I think she genuinely enjoys being in the studio (maybe a little too much, to her own detriment) and enjoys creating new songs. She will always be doing that, no doubt. But I think fans need to accept the old days are gone and her album releases will look different than how they used to be. She doesn’t necessarily need to put out a new album every 2 years. The tours don’t necessarily need to support the new album. She IS a legacy artist and she’s likely making a ton more money doing it too. For all we know she could decide to launch a Vegas residency next. At least with the tours there are still opportunities for fans to see her in their area, whereas I can’t see a lot of fans traveling specifically to Vegas.
But yes, as she gets older, it’s to be expected her career is going to look different, likely less albums, less new songs on tour, etc. We all have fond memories of her from our childhoods and the fun of seeing a new, fresh era, but I think we have to let go of that image of her and accept she’s getting older, doesn’t have the same label support she once did, and the industry as a whole is way different. Even Taylor is slowing down with her album releases, she doesn’t do as much promo for them anymore because she doesn’t need to. She puts out a few videos and calls it a day. The money is in touring.

Yes, she is getting older it’s true, but Madonna is 66 and she is still making album and hits (not in the last years) but she is older than Avril. The fact is that Avril Lavigne is too lazy and another GH tour it’s a really boring idea, but I am not surprised because I didn’t expect anything from her 😆 What’s the point to do another GH tour with same set list, same outfit, same stage and also same guest like simple plan. At this point she could easily do a new album and male a new tour with her older stuff and 2/3 new songs.
