Of course he wouldn't miss this opportunity đ I mean he is a horrendous excuse for a human being but part of me is like if this is what it takes for her team to realise that âppl in the mediaâ are talking about this and not just her fans, then there is an issue. I disagree with his statement about her bringing multiple support acts with her because she canât fill stadiums and to generate cash. Now Iâve heard of RTS and ATL but correct me if Iâm wrong theyâre not huge acts. You may get a few ATL fans going to gigs but the majority are there to see Avril. And 2 support acts is pretty standard of bands and artists.

i am actually still excited to go to my show, i'm leaving the province for it in edmonton. i feel like these days all her fans do is judge her and it's really getting obnoxious even just looking at her comment sections this past week @_@
my main concern is that i can't decide if i want to wear the sk8r boi shirt and tie or the girlfriend skirt outfit!! decisions decisions .. also super excited to finally see don't tell me and when you're gone live teehee. like someone said earlier, many of us didn't get to see her live during her prime and it's nice that she's bringing some songs back that we missed :3 my ultimate wish is for unwanted to come back one day...
it'd also be pretty cool tonight to see if she brings up fans on stage at every stop.. pick me avril!

I think things are getting kind of toxic, yes. Some comments are so out of line... She has been doing fan services for more than a decade. I'm 100% sure this new UMS merch and lyrics are because fans requested it. And I don't think she will make money from lyric videos on YouTube in 2024, lol. She won't get more rich from the 50 cents she'll make from lyric videos that only some fans (and not all of them) will watch. She probably spent more money hiring a designer to create them than she'll make in profit. These lyrics are 100% a bone thrown to the fans. Also, I read on Reddit that she got to meet some fans after the show. Have you heard about that? Maybe she heard some complaints. As I said, I don't think her international Instagram followers who weren't even there lashing out on the internet will have much of an effect, but fans expressing their concerns to her face will be a better option. Itâs so nice that she met with some fans afterwards! The young women who came on stage looked thrilled in their Instagram posts (including pictures with Avril afterwards). It would be fun if she brought up fans to sing some of Complicated or Sk8er Boi with her like in the TTSMU tour (not necessarily those two but one everyone knows the lyrics to).

He probably knows too but wanted to shade her, like "she can not do arenas anymore. Go do theaters!"

Since people were discussing the set list and some were complaining,
I did this search: average rock concert length
My results:
An average set at a rock concert is usually about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Statistics About The Average Concert Length.
In a rock concert, a setlist may contain between 10 to 20 songs, The number of songs performed also depends on whether the artist is the opening act or the headliner. primesound.org/how-long-are-concerts
From another article: 15 songs is a pretty standard setlist length for a tour and Avril's setlists for all her tours since 2013 have been 15-16 songs long. It's also possible that Avril can only do a shorter show based on her health and previous battles with Lyme disease. With rave reviews from critics, we imagine that Avril's Greatest Hits Tour will still please many fans. Source: www.capitalfm.com/news/music/avril-lavigne-greatest-hits-tour-setlist-songs/
If Avril has been doing pretty much the same thing she has been doing for over a decade. And her set list song count falls within the standard rock concert length. Why suddenly expect her to do something different?

i think taylor set standards really high from her eras tour but to be fair.. greatest hits tours existed way before the eras tour (and from doing a little research, have around the same songs as avrils if not a few more) and that's more of her own thing and why she got so big again. while i do hope that she can add a few more songs if she is able to, i also think it's really telling of her career that she is able to do a greatest hits tour in the first place (with a lot of public interest at that!) and people are still complaining about how she didnt add enough of her greatest hits lol

I can totally see her perform NH tonight. Bullying works sometimes. So do I, in the most NOT reheasarled way, and it wont last more than 3 shows. Its always the same tricks lol get ready for the posts asking for fans which songs they wanna hear, as if she didnt know anything. Lol This is what some people here would call "fan services". Id call it lazyness as its best. I saw people here saying that only brazillians were complaining. Well, if it wasnt for Brazillians fans she probably wouldve never consider to perform live Everybody Hurts, Falling Fast and Avalanche, at least for once in her entire career. Id also include the only live performance of Things after UMS era.

That statistic can mean everything and nothing at the same time. I don't think we can do an "average time" for a rock concert. Which band is playing? what and how big is their discography?
Just to give some context, Green Day are touring worldwide this year and they're doing their bigger hits of each era + Dookie and American Idiot in full. each single song. Those 2 albums alone are 95 minutes combined, so I guess their show is at least 120 minutes because they also play songs from other albums + pauses, interludes.
I think spending at least 100 USD to see such a short show like Avril's makes you have a good time but prevents you from going again next time!

Its been more than 10 years that we have to BEG for new songs on her concerts. Thats NOT normal. Neither during a greatest hits she can do a decent setlist. The choices were already there, she just needed to perform the most wanted singles. And guess what, Love it When You Hate Me and Fake As Hell arent part of this team, not when choose these ones over bigger singles like WYWH, Hot, Nobodys Home, Losing Grip, TBDT... in a 15 track setlist!

I donât think itâs so much that people âsuddenly expect her to do something differentâ. This critique has come up before in her career. But I think itâs largely around how this particular tour was marketed/she spoke about it. She said on call her daddy that it would be a 90 minute set every night. Thereâs only a total of four songs that are different from the last tour. I think also, as people said above, standards are just a bit different with some artists doing so much more these days, particularly for a career celebration tour. However, her health should be the main priority so the shorter set makes sense. If there was more variety in the singles she chose vs previous tours I donât think ppl would be this upset. Perhaps because she doesnât speak about her health anymore (which is totally understandable) the comparisons between her set and othersâ are not taking this into account much. Itâs still a great time and it was nice seeing her beam in a lot of the closeup footage of this last Vancouver concert. I will always adore her no matter what. I hope people enjoy the show tonight and future shows and that the backlash dies down.

Yes... Avenged Sevenfold played 15 full songs at last shows. And sometimes + 3 encore songs... Source: www.setlist.fm/setlists/avenged-sevenfold-3d6d1a3.html

Sure, if she wants to be a rock chick - fine. But then she should play instruments for all of those 15 songs. đ€·

She needs an acoustic set with 3 more songs Fast way to shut down the main complaint (the setlist) and still preserve her health.

I think it might be the actual singing that is tiring though. Some of her ballads are much harder to sing/take more effort than the fast paced ones she does all the time. I would love more acoustic lives from her though! That was the main thing that drew me in as a fan in 2002.

I don't understand why you can't criticize your favorite artist without it being labeled as "hate." I will be seeing Avril on September 4th in Georgia, and even with this short 15 song setlist, I am pumped! That doesn't mean I think the same setlist and being bored on stage are ok. I just think if you are gonna perform the same songs then switch up the order. I'm tired of the same encore and the same stretch of songs (WTH, Complicated, HTNGU) in the first act. Also, her being bored on stage is sad, but that's not something that's easy to fix, unlike a setlist.
Something like this, using the same 15 songs, would be better:
Act I 1. Sk8er Boi 2. What the Hell 3. Here's to Never Growing Up
Act II 4. Girlfriend 5. Bite Me 6. My Happy Ending 7. Fake as Hell (with All Time Low)
Act III 8. When You're Gone 9. Head Above Water 10. I'm with You
Act IV 11. Don't Tell Me 12. Love It When You Hate Me 13. Smile 14. He Wasn't
Encore 15. Complicated
Imo, I just want her to fix her setlist. It's been the same since HAW Tour and disorganized. If she wanted to open with Girlfriend, just switch it with Sk8er Boi btw.
