I think part of the issue is the fact that she’s treated her album tours like Greatest Hits tours since 2014. I get that’s the way she’s always wanted her setlist to be, but she knows fans want more than just the singles. If she had treated her album tours like actual album tours, this wouldn’t be an issue.
Also I don’t understand why her Lyme is being discussed here when she said she’s been in remission since 2018.

I mentioned her health because even if she’s in remission, Lyme can have lifelong effects. And it seems based on her performances at least, that it has for her. I sure hope not! But whatever the reason, I don’t get the sense that she’s in particularly good health. Of course this is complete speculation on my part, as a fan who doesn’t know her personally at all.

She needs an acoustic set with 3 more songs Fast way to shut down the main complaint (the setlist) and still preserve her health. That would be really nice! I think it might be the actual singing that is tiring though. Some of her ballads are much harder to sing/take more effort than the fast paced ones she does all the time. I would love more acoustic lives from her though! That was the main thing that drew me in as a fan in 2002. I mean Shania has a 22+ set list for her residency. In the middle of the show, she does an acoustic set of 4–5 songs and then goes back to the more upbeat side again, if I'm not wrong. It is possible. I'm using her as an example because she also suffers from Lyme limitations. Like it's been said on this thread, she can and should adapt, not just simply cut songs from the show.

That’s true. But I don’t think everyone suffers from Lyme (or any illness) the same way. But I agree. I would love at least a few more songs and some variety!

Also I don’t understand why her Lyme is being discussed here when she said she’s been in remission since 2018. I think the issue here is the fact most of her ‘hits’ are from her first 3 albums. That’s why those songs have appeared on her setlist more. She’s then had a break away from performing for years due to Lyme so when she has toured again she’s reverted back to performing the hits again. I think perhaps if Lyme and Covid hadn’t happened her setlist would be different. If you look at the first 4 album tours she’s played a lot more album tracks. I think her rationale is people want to hear the hits. Plus the fact the HAW tour in Europe became ‘World Tour’ and was 3 years delayed, I think this could have had a lot to do with the setlist being like a GH tour at that point. Maybe her plans was to play more HAW songs and afterwards do a GH tour. I still think she can bulk it out a bit. More acoustic sets, slow it down. Get rid of duets. Perhaps get rid of LIWYHM. My fear is this is a long tour. Her voice on the videos from the first night sounded shaky. I just feel there could be cancellations somewhere along the way.

I think things are getting kind of toxic, yes. Some comments are so out of line... She has been doing fan services for more than a decade. I'm 100% sure this new UMS merch and lyrics are because fans requested it. And I don't think she will make money from lyric videos on YouTube in 2024, lol. She won't get more rich from the 50 cents she'll make from lyric videos that only some fans (and not all of them) will watch. She probably spent more money hiring a designer to create them than she'll make in profit. These lyrics are 100% a bone thrown to the fans. Also, I read on Reddit that she got to meet some fans after the show. Have you heard about that? Maybe she heard some complaints. As I said, I don't think her international Instagram followers who weren't even there lashing out on the internet will have much of an effect, but fans expressing their concerns to her face will be a better option. I think those lyric videos are part of the GH campaign. They are on her vevo account, and only her sony music related things are uploaded there. Since there's nothing new maybe all the songs will have that differential to boost the youtube streams. That makes sense. Maybe they were aimed to be released during the GH released week but they rushed cause of the anniversary and fan requests.

I can only say when I saw her in 2019 that barely anyone sang along with the HAW songs but went crazy when she sang the old singles. It’d be nice if she threw a bone to her longtime fans by playing some deep cut, but I’m guessing her main priority is the hits because there’s many casuals who go and those are always the songs that get the best response. As much as I enjoyed hearing HAW, TMIO, DB, etc. because they were new, they were not really easy to sing along with the way GF, SB, MHE, etc. are. I love TMIO but it was kind of flat live and not easy to sing along with. Some of her new songs just simply don’t translate live and most of the crowd doesn’t know them or sing them.

I agree, but also, this could be solved with some strategies. For example, I remember that Avalanche never had a screen lyric video to be played on show, unlike songs like I'm With You. I mean... the whole crowd who attends an Avril concert knows how to sing along to IWY, but not Avalanche - which was just a fan favorite that never became a single.
Even though Avalanche was an impromptu fanserve during her leg in Brazil, she also sang the song in Europe, and if I'm not mistaken, they never showed any lyrics afterwards.
That would have made it easier for the crowd to sing along.

I hate it when people pretend that she never had any health problems. But AT THE SAME TIME, because of her health, she can do acoustic, stripped-down, seated performances, etc. Even during the TBDT Tour, she had an acoustic set where she sat to sing. She can easily do this again with additional songs! The middle ground between acknowledging her limitations and requesting adapted performances is what's been lacking between her and her fans.

Since people were discussing the set list and some were complaining,
I did this search: average rock concert length
My results:
An average set at a rock concert is usually about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Statistics About The Average Concert Length.
In a rock concert, a setlist may contain between 10 to 20 songs, The number of songs performed also depends on whether the artist is the opening act or the headliner. primesound.org/how-long-are-concerts
From another article: 15 songs is a pretty standard setlist length for a tour and Avril's setlists for all her tours since 2013 have been 15-16 songs long. It's also possible that Avril can only do a shorter show based on her health and previous battles with Lyme disease. With rave reviews from critics, we imagine that Avril's Greatest Hits Tour will still please many fans. Source: www.capitalfm.com/news/music/avril-lavigne-greatest-hits-tour-setlist-songs/
If Avril has been doing pretty much the same thing she has been doing for over a decade. And her set list song count falls within the standard rock concert length. Why suddenly expect her to do something something different?
Yes... Avenged Sevenfold played 15 full songs at last shows. And sometimes + 3 encore songs... Source: www.setlist.fm/setlists/avenged-sevenfold-3d6d1a3.htmlSorry, but I don't think that comparison works at all. I checked some of those Avenged Sevenfold setlists.
Out of those 18 songs, 13 are over 5 minutes long (the studio version), some are even nearing 10 minutes, "Save Me" is actually 10:56. Unless they cut most of these songs short or played them super fast, that makes that set easily over 90 minutes long. In fact, if you search YouTube for any of their full shows from 2024, all those videos are 100 minutes or longer.

This site also posted this article, same author, dated May 20, 2024:
Here they write "A rock concert lasts around 1.5-3 hours". Also "The average pop concert lasts around 2 hours".
I don't think the author can make up their mind, lol.

I think that what the difference is: The entire show including the opening acts and the interlude between, versus just the set that main act does.

There's another thing... it seems like this tour is a bit longer than the previous ones. I've seen a video, and the first concert lasted around 1 hour and 24 minutes. Even though this isn't that long, the problem isn't just the short setlist. The performance of He Wasn't lasted for almost 8 minutes due to the guitar battle, mute challenge, crowd interaction, and the song itself. I'm not saying this is good or bad. But it's ironic that she can't do shortened versions of songs, instead, she extends some of them... lol.
To keep the balance, I'll keep the exact setlist but add an acoustic set with WYWH, KHO, and NH. Plus, a surprise set for songs that she barely performs, like TMIO, Hot, RNR, HK, and IAM, and switch between these singles that don't make the cut but she supposedly already knows the lyrics to. I don't think deep cuts will be added, but they could join this surprise set. If she's worried the audience won't know how to sing along, adding singles that, while not her greatest hits, are still known, would be helpful. This would be 4/5+ songs, which is a decent improvement. She is not going to do it tho.
