In good and bad ways. How come I Will Be is #9? And I like the fact that her first B-Sides are still so beloved. I really like I Don't
Give and Get Over It, so I am happy to see them so highly ranked. I am a bit surprised that people prefer Take Me Away over Forgotten, I think Forgotten is so much more emotional, but I am happy to see Together at 23. It's my all time favorite and eventhough it wasn't a single and it's more than 10 years old people still appreciate it obviously. Not Enough could have gotten more if you were asking me, but since it's a rather uncommon song it did fine, too. I just really don't get all the fuzz about I Will Be. It's a touchy song, I get it, but it's way too cheesy for my taste and it would have done fine around #40-#30. |

I'm not sure that it is as overrated as Nobody's Home (it's just an example...). I do not like Keep Holding On because it's too orchestral/solemn for me (I don't know how to explain) but you're right I never see people talking about it... while it seems to be appreciated. |

I think WYG is quite overrated. It's an okay song but so cheesy... And my love for Fly has kind of faded by now. It's a nice song, but not one of Avril's best ones. There are a lot of songs that are better than Fly but ranked lower. Sooo true. |

I'm extremely happy with the top 10. I can't believe that some of my favorite songs, WYWH, GYWYL, Innocence and HH are in the top 10! This makes me beyond happy! The top 5 results were kind of expected, but I'm still satisfied with them. The albums' positions weren't surprising either. Like Jack said, UMS is a fan favorite and will always be number 1 for many fans, LG is a classic, GL is not very much loved but still kind of appreciated, TBDT is considered her most polarizing album and AL her least memorable album to date. Personally, my top 5 albums are:
1. Goodbye Lullaby
I really love this album. Words can never ever describe how much love I have for this album. Maybe I'm a bit biased and not objective about it, since I first became an Avril fan during that era, but imo this album is the best record she has made to this day. Everything about it is great imo. And even though, the lyrics have been criticized for being poorly written and too 'simple' by many, this is what I really like about this album. The simplicity of the lyrics, accompanied by her voice and the subtle instruments on the background make this album a masterpiece to me and my ears.
2. The Best Damn Thing
Sometimes, I feel like this album is truly underrated by fans. The album has some really great songs, both musically and lyrically and I truly appreciate that. The lyrics are indeed very creative and fun. And the upbeat songs are so catchy and kind of "playful", that it makes it impossible for me not to like this album. On the other hand, I'm not very fond of the ballads. WYG is generally overrated and a bit cheesy, even though it's actually a good song, while KHO seems too "orchestral" and generic to me. I don't really know why, but I never really was fond of that song.
3. Let Go
A truly great record. The music, the lyrics, her voice... Everything in this album is great. However, I don't like the fact that Avril wasn't very much involved in the writing process. And I don't like the way her voice sounds in Too Much To Ask and Nobody's Fool. While, Things I'll Never Say was always a song that I liked, the lyrics of the bridge kind of make me cringe. The part where she says "what's wrong with my tongue", is imo very awful lyrically. Couldn't she use some other lyrics for that part? Why did she have to say "what's wrong with my tongue"? IMO, this lyric line kills the whole vibe for that song and should be re-written. But, apart from that, I like the song.
4. Under My Skin
I genuinely like this album, but the lyrics of most of the songs on that album are kind of meh. And could also be made a lot better. The production on some tracks could be improved as well. Songs like Freak Out and Slipped Away could have been a lot better, if the production and the lyrics weren't so average and mediocre.
5. Avril Lavigne
Well, I don't have much to say here. Contrary to what most fans think, I believe that this album is quite good and more than just a mediocre record. In my opinion, it had the potential to be even more than just a good record. It truly could have been a great album, if the lyrics of some songs didn't seem so "forced" and if the production on some of the tracks wasn't so "average" and didn't sound "fake" at all in any of the tracks. This album would be so much better if Martin Johnson wasn't involved in the production of the album at all, or even in the process of songwriting. It's such a pity that it wasn't well produced and flopped the charts. It did have some potential to do better than that.
