This thread is such a great idea, since there are so many Avril fans out there who are fans of The Pretty Reckless as well and now there's finally a place to discuss solely about The Pretty Reckless, their music, discography and so on.
"Take Me Down" is very good. Clearly not something I was expecting from them (was expecting a heavier lead single for this record, something like "Going To Hell" for some reason), but I have to say that either way it's totally awesome. I'd like it to have a little bit more guitar in it, to be a little bit more heavy. But still, I'm incredibly satisfied with the result. It's a very catchy song and it has some kind of carefree vibe about it that I really love. Can't wait to see what this album - that they are going to release - will sound like. I'm pretty curious for this record.

Light Me Up is one of my favourite albums. Even my least favourite songs on there are still pretty good and the stuff I like I really, really like.
I didn't get Going To Hell though because I listened to a bunch of songs from it and couldn't get into them. Mostly they seemed longer than they needed to be and not very memorable.
Take Me Down seems pretty good but the chorus is weak. I like the guitar in it though.

I agree, as much as I love them I think they should change things around a bit; as much as I like the songs they can be repetitive with the same "hell" theme on a lot of them. |

The songs felt a bit more human while GTH didn't feel like things that had happened to actual people but just a bunch of 'hell' imagery that fit the overall theme because 'hey, we're a rock band.' There were more emotions for me in LMU. I hope the new album moves on from this hell stuff. It was boring and played out to me a long time ago and I think they're capable of much better |

The new album titled "Who You Selling For" will be released on October 21.  And it seems we're getting more than one "hell" song  Tracklist: Hangman Oh My God Prisoner Wild City Take Me Down The Walls Are Closing In Who You Selling For Living in the Storm Back to the River Bedroom Window The Devil's Back They will also tour the US in October-December (tickets are already available for purchase) and Europe in 2017. Anyone went to see them live during their European tour? I was in The Netherlands last friday and they were so good!! Damn! Next they come I'm gonna go again! Taylor's live vocals are awesome!! But I agree with the devil-things, they mention 'devil' in songs a lot. That's maybe their thing but it gets a bit old. Not to say that Take Me Down and The Devil's Back are really cool songs but the repeating of 'Sign with the devil' in Take Me Down and 'I guess the devils's back' in The Devil's Back is sometimes a bit too much for me.  Tho Who You Selling For is a very nice album. A lot different then Going To Hell, I can hear also a growth in it. |
