 I think that Avril's vision of this album was to be different than it came out. In early interviews, she said that she was going back to the old sound a bit, and in the end, the producers remade half of the album, adding more pop songs ... I have long wanted to ask someone experienced about this "document". Could this be true? Avril really worked with these authors. If this is true, then Avril has almost an entire unreleased album. I think the album could sound like Not Enough, Everybody Hurts, Stop Standing There, Gone, Complete Me... and I would really like that. It's interesting that David Hodges is one of the producers. She had never worked with him before but made most of her next album with him. Maybe this was when they met. I would be fascinated to hear her original 4th album before all the pushbacks. |

I honestly wonder if that’s a fake document made by a fan. It wouldn’t be that difficult to photoshop the RCA logo and what not onto a Word document and make up some fake titles. Because as far as I know, Crash & Burn was never the title of the album and I think was only a rumor. All of the songs mentioned on the sheet aren’t registered on ASCAP or anywhere else. Some of them even just seem like alternate titles, like “Shining Star” clearly seems like an alternate title for Black Star.

It's hard to tell because not all tracks get registered on ASCAP before an album release and using David Hodges before she ever publicly worked with him would have been a great guess by whoever made it up. I also don't recall if this came out before or after the Gone instrumental leaked. If it was after why did they not also include Complete Me which leaked at the same time? I suppose we'll never know but I would love her to talk more publicly about what happened that era |

I wonder where those pics came from? If we could find the original source then it would be easier to understand. I am pretty sure they're fake, since they use the album title "Crash & Burn" which I'm also pretty sure was made up by some type of fans, the same type of fans who also came up with the disgusting title "Pink Crust" at some point. I don't know if it's been confirmed, but I remember that on the Wish You Were Here CD, there was supposed to be a Fine song, but it was changed, I don't remember what. There was a rumour about a song called Hello. When the WYWH physical single became available to buy on Avril's official website, is was advertised as having a second track called "Hello", but it was basically an error, who knows where that originated from. It was later corrected. But some fans were really angry because they bought it thinking they would get "Hello" so even if unintentionally it was perceived as a some sort of scam. |

Amazing I was just looking at the song titles ignoring other information. I only remember someone using old photoshoot to recreate an album cover for the title that hasn't yet confirmed. The fact David Hodges was on the list really gains my trust about this list now. Everybody Hurts, this title came out from this list before any interviews from my memory if Im no wrong |

There is no proof when this document was written. It’s incredibly easy to just go back after the fact and make up a document like this and photoshop some logos onto it. We knew by AL era she had worked with Hodges. We knew the rumored title was Crash & Burn (which was made up by fans I think anyway). They didn’t even get the release year right because the original album was meant to be released in 2009, not 2010. You could easily make up a bunch of song titles and just put the names of her known collaborators at the time, or take titles of registered songs from her ASCAP. There is absolutely zero proof this document is authentic. To me it’s pretty clearly fake/fan made. If it is real, why are there photos of it? There’s no signatures or anything to verify it either, not like that budget sheet that was posted by Avril’s first manager for LG where we could clearly see receipts and that someone had signed off on it, verifying its authenticity.
ETA: I just noticed that they have Everybody Hurts listed as a self written song and that Butch produced it, which is not what the final version ended up being (Evan co-wrote it and it was produced by Deryck). Avril is also listed as a producer on like every song on this list, yet on the actual album she only produced 2. I have a hard time believing if she produced that many why only 2 made the cut. None of this makes any sense to me and IMO screams fake.

GL has become a huge favorite among the Avril fandom, but critics unabashedly trashed it back in the day.

If she ever does an acoustic/stripped showcase for fun on her YouTube channel or a medley at a songwriting focused event I think we’ll see this albums songs featured more as it’d be a natural fit.

I was just listening to Wish You Were Here and noticed something. In the bridge, Avril sounds absolutely like in the Let Go era! Such a softer breathy voice. I've listened to this dozens of times already and I have a theory in my head that this bridge was from another unreleased song for Let Go! Well, or just Avril sang like that))) I swear Avril's voice in the Wish You Were Here bridge sounds like her voice during the Let Go!

If that were the case though, lifting a bridge from another song, they would have had to credit the writers. Avril didn’t start working with Max Martin and Shellback until GL (she did work with Max a bit for TBDT), and they’re the only writers listed. I think the whole thing is just coincidental. It was a cool callback to LG and in I Love You she says “You keep your cool when I am complicated” but IMO they’re just little references and nothing more. |
