Am I the only one who feels like Avril keeps those songs in the shadows because they are personal? Lyrically, they are more dedicated and the relation between lines are much more tied. I don't think so, considering that Lights Out was written by another singer and somehow Avril recorded it, or considering that most probably Lucky Ones was written mainly by Lauren, since she recorded her version, and Avril made minor changes and recorded her own. Maybe that only applies to that song with Chad.

Damn it, another l**k?! What the hell is going on these days?! I only listened to "If I Said I Loved You" once so far, but I'm really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I skimmed a few comments here first, and therefore expected to find it cheesy myself, since I don't much like love songs in the first place. But I don't really think "If I Said I Loved You" is that cheesy. I think it's pretty sweet, actually. Yes, it gets quite repetitive about halfway through, but that rhythm is so catchy, I was vibing in my seat throughout the song, lol. I also think both Avril and Chad sound great in the song. Avril really killed it imo. I love the way she uses her voice, switching from chest voice to head voice, and giving certain words a bit of an emphasis... I didn't really hear any weird accent; to me, it just sounded like she played with the pronunciation a little, but that just made the song more interesting imo (unlike in e.g. "Hello Heartache" where her weird pronunciations just ruin the song for me). I don't much like Chad's voice, but the way he and Avril harmonised throughout the song worked wonderfully imo, and made Chad's voice much more bearable enjoyable for me. I also just love how authentic the song feels. Listening to it just that one time really made me happy for Avril's and Chad's happiness. So yeah, the only negative I really have about this song is its repetitiveness. Based on my first listen, I would've loved to see it on AL, or officially released in some other way. It's way better than at least half of AL. But I understand they wanted to keep the song to themselves. Which makes me feel a little uncomfortable, having listened to it. But it's so good, I really want to listen to it some more times... Ah yes, SAME! My expectations for this song based on what I had heard were pretty low and I wasn't all that interested in hearing it. Also considering it was a wedding song and another duet with Chad, whose voice I’m also not really a fan of. But his voice being in the background and with Avril’s beautiful vocals on top is how I would most prefer hearing his voice in a song tbh… I think the melodies are pretty, and the song itself is better than a lot of the stuff on AL5. Also the production is better? Not as computerized-sounding. As for it being cheesy, it’s not all that cheesy for the circumstances, seeing it’s their wedding song. Last chorus is a little repetitive, but it’s a really sweet song in the end.

My favorite song on the album is Falling Fast. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who loves this song. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who loves AL5 album but Falling Fast is indeed one of the bests!

I wonder where are these leaks coming from! Looks like they are coming suddenly from nowhere. I wonder 1 particular someone has all of them? Some of these songs like the one with chad, a few from HAW including “here in your arms” have been circulating among small circles for years. She’s also apparently sitting on a mountain of unreleased stuff from LS that is also circulating. Idk when/if she plans to really do the double album or delux she said she would , but I’m sure we’ll hear the songs eventually either way 🤷

I'm hoping for more Tri-pod songs!

I listened to If I Said I Love You. I loved it. I'm a little sad it got leaked since it's a song Avril specifically said she'd never release since it was their wedding song, but I did listen to it. Repetitive, yes, but absolutely beautiful since it's a style she doesn't do very often if at all. The high notes are wonderful, her voice is airy singing in this style. I honestly was blown away when I first heard the song, and I'm someone who's not very into love songs lol.

Just listened to If I Said I Love You and I loved it. Avril's voice sounds so good and I love the lyrics, especially in the verses.

Although it's repetitive, lyrics rather complement in the the verse, also, I like the hard and soft line by line. Not like 'Joker''s chorus, they are all consistent. Btw, She uses a lot vibrato here, more than any song she ever recorded

I don't know if anybody else here likes at least a few of Nickelback's songs (at least the softer, cheesier ones, not the grotesque, less known discography), but this duet song certain lyrical and melodical characteristics that are very "Chad-like", lol, so in terms of structure (just listen to Miss You, I'd Come For You, Satellite, etc.) I feel there's more Chad than Avril, even though her voice is in the forefront. Anyway, it's an endearing and nice song, but quite generically love-cheesy which isn't quite in my lane, so to say.

I remember when I first EVER heard the songs intro, I was like "wait, this is a Nickelback song". She always adopts too much influences from the others into her own music.

I agree. I would say this song is too much "Nickelback". To me frankly it looks the same as "Far Away"

I need to vent. I listened to AL a few days ago after not playing it for years and I can't get SOS off of my mind. Who the hell thought this song should have made the cut? Avril has a lot of generic songs past TBDT era but this has got to be the least Avril-like song ever. It's not that I hate this song because I do think it's catchy but what were these grown ass people writing this song for? It's not like it was even a pop radio song in 2012.

I like the song well enough (it hits when you’re at the beach!) but it IS odd how it made the cut over several tripod songs that were probably better.
