[RESULTS] The Ultimate Avril Lavigne Rating 2019

Poor GL once again. *sigh*

I think next year the ranking will be clearer. HAW is new and fresh so people remember the songs better.
Next year could be different and maybe HAW drops under TBDT. Let‘s see how it ages.
My album ranking was GL, HAW, TBDT, LG, AL and then UMS.

Other than EH being top 10 when it doesn’t even deserve top 100, my only other real issue here is how the hell is the IWY video better than Girlfriend? come onnnn

Well its quite simple Katherine, Girlfriend video is basically a spiritual turn-of-the-millennium high-school songs' knock-off, but more than half a decade younger. It's like a remix of Blink's Josie, First Date, maybe Wheatus's Teenage Dirtbag, and so forth. I'd argue that she surfed the last few waves of that stylistic epoch, which was then surpassed by a related but different style, championed by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Pink, etc. 

IWY, on the other hand, is, I think, inspired by The Verve's very very famous 'bitter sweet symphony' music video, but I can't seem to recall any other video that would also be of a similar setting.. There probably are other inspirations, but because it doesn't run a goofy intermittent story it is easier to follow, and because of its nighttime setting it has much more 'poetic' visuals, plus, people love that unique slow-mo trick that held up quite well up to this day (I'm sure a few shots would've been done differently now).

Head Above Water should've been #5.

I enjoy the mv for girlfriend the most. It‘s a really cool video and I laughed a couple times because of it.
