It's not that it's that terrible, but saying "we're stronger, that's why we are alive" is cringey and sounds like those who died weren't strong enough. Interesting point! |

Listened to the full song.
Surprised? No.
Disappointed? Yes but no at the same time because I knew this was coming.
I mean, if she really didn't want to write a new song that's okay but she could have changed some words here and there to make a little effort and make it fit the situation more.
But I knew she was just going to change "I" with "we", because she is so predictable. So not surprised at all.
Furthermore, the change is completely useless because the meaning of the song applies even with the singular first-person pronoun. I'm a warrior and I'm in this situation together with everybody else so of course I am a warrior just like everyone else. So taking the time just to change it to "we" is not only ridicolous but also pointless...
Ah, Avril.

Right - I think as usual fans are already raising their expectations and setting themselves up for disappointment. It’s Avril. We know what to expect from her at this point. I am basically expecting minimal lyric changes like “We are Warriors, we’ll fight for our lives.” The singles likely not going to be that commercially successful, but that isn’t the point. The point of this project isn’t for her to make any profit or highlight herself. It’s about the actual people who are working hard at this time and trying to give people a little bit of hope and inspiration. We were all complaining she wasn’t doing anything, now she’s decided to release a remix of the song with a nice video and even perform it on livestream for us. That’s already a ton more than I expected from her. Perfectly described what I was thinking.  |

Tiny details she should've thought of and that she could've easily re-written them for something like "and we are stronger, we'll pass through the storm" (not quite an example lol, but to make my point). I'm thinking perhaps she didn't want to change the production since having someone else take on the track would take the credit from her as the producer, so I see why she only added like only a tiny violin to the original insturmental. I agree that a line like that could give the wrong impression, but the song was already cheesy to begin with. I don't think a song called "Warrior" or "We are Warriors" can really avoid coming off as cheesy and cliche. It's still a nice gesture on her part to try to do something for those who are suffering though. It's still better than her just posting pics of food and pool parties. |

I haven’t heard it yet so I will not give an opinion to the song but everything here seems to be as always.. Avril does nothing, everyone is mad.. Avril does something, everyone is mad because she is doing it „wrong“.. and we repeat this process over and over again.
When I first joined I was always defending Avril because I didn’t like the negativity. After a while I started to understand what bothered everyone and I was disappointed in some things she did as well. So I am not saying that no one should ever criticize her but what do you get from being only negative no matter what Avril says, writes, posts or does?
The song is probably mediocre at best and I know it before even listening to it. Am I disappointed? Did I wish she did more? Yes.
But at the same time I am just thankful that we get at least a song from her, a livestream and even a performance.
In a time like this we should all be together and support each other instead of only pointing out the wrong things we do or say.
As for the line „We‘re stronger, that‘s why we‘re alive“ I have not heard it yet but yes, I understand the problem with that. We shall see.

Okay I‘ve listened to it. It‘s okay. There are a few things I like more than the original. I wish she changed the „we‘ve got a whole damn army“ to something else at the same I live the „this will be behind us“. I want to see the video now. |

I listened to the snippet. It's pretty much exactly what I'd expected. Well, I had hoped for a bit of a better production tbh, but whatever. Her voice sounds kinda nasal, though, not sure if I like it, but I'll wait till the full song is released to give more judgement. I am curious how she solved the bridge, though. She can't simply change it to "We've got a whole damn army / [...] / You can't cut or scar us". Doesn't rhyme. But we'll see... And incidentally, I personally would love to hear "We're a whole damn army" instead of "We've got a whole damn army", but let's not hope for too much.
