Idk about you guys but i love it. I expected a monotonous punk track, like those songs that is basically the same energy from start to end? Yes, this one is a bit repetitive but at least it has a lot of ups and downs and it gives the song dynamics. It goes up and down till the it builds for the climax and i think that's pretty cool. I'm also really glad it's not a funny song. When i saw the cover i expected the worst lyric wise, but instead we got a pretty decent break-up song imho. It's not the most original and it's definitely not top literature but at least they didn't try to make it funny or about riding motorcycles lol, that was my main concern. I think it will grow on you. It's basically pop-rock and it could fit anywhere in her discography from her 3 first albums. that's what i like. It's SO 2000's and yet it doesn't sound outdated. I'm really happy they didn't dissapoint and i'm extremely happy and excited to hear Avril with guitars and drums again. We got a brief of that feeling with haw (song) but AL7 sounds really promising. I agree with all this, except two things. Is it a break up song? I get the feeling it is about toxic and addictive type of relationship, and trying to cut off from that. Vocally wise, the song is way more in line with Avril vocals from GL onwards... which I like tbh. |

Oh I found it. It was not that hard after all. It's interesting!
I find it hard to categorise. But definitely a good song. Its not what you'd call a "BOP" but I really enjoy it. I just wish the middle/end part was more the general vibe throughout the whole song but I am very convinced with this and if this is the direction Avril is going for I here for it.

Something similar to UMS but with parts that are more mellow and sweet. the beginning and the end especially. it goes: chrous, post-chorus, verse, chorus, post-chorus, verse, chorus x2 post-chorus x3 the "chorus and post chorus" could also be a "pre-chorus and chorus" i'm not really sure lol. Or it coud the chorus the whole thing. idk |

So i did the math and she sings 1:31min aporx. and Modsun sings 1:39min aprox.
I think it's pretty cool he shared the spotlight so much with her. I mean, if i was him i would've done the same, what an honor to sing with the queen herself lol.

Why did I just spend 10 minutes looking for this.
Rarely post these days and feel bad doing so just to be negative, but that was beyond awful.
Empty words, no emotion and doesn't even have the catchy element to fall back on. Hoping her solo stuff she has been working on is better.

It is not a bad song by any means, but the style of the song is not something people follow these days and the song itself is not unique or "jam" enough to become a viral thing that people get in their heads. Avril haven't been charting in a while and Modsun is pretty unknown. The song may chart in some rock top 40 maybe? But I think this is a song that only appeal to Avril and Modsun fans and a few of the poprockers out there. It isn't even rock enough to create an impact in the lonely rock scene. The song for me feels a little bit rushed, as I think a couple parts more with more lyrical content could have made this song stand out as good balance between a melodic pop tune and a heavier rock tune. As it is now, it is a good song that probably most of us will like but not interesting enough to make the general public go "wow". |

Have just listened to the song.
As an usual rock listener, I like it A LOT. I might play it on loop for weeks.
Even though the hook is kinda repetitive, it might make some noise on alternative charts. It sounds really alternative, and it is SO nice hearing Avril's voice through heavy electric guitarsand real drums again after all this time. She's still got it!
I like the way Avril is like a cliff hanger, the calm before the storm... It is usual in rock duets, one person singing "clean" and the other singing "dirty". Her clean vocals here remind me of Don't Tell Me and Who Knows, she sounds like she did on Under My Skin and yet it sounds SO refreshing. Nothing special on her vocal range here, this sounds kinda "easy" for her to sing, but her volume technique on this song shows how much of a professional she is. Her interpretation is good too!
I love Mod Sun's take on this as well, the desperation on his voice, his interpretation
This is by far her best duet yet, and I hope it becomes big enough to Mod Sun drop his album.
REALLY excited for AL7 now. This might be my fave album (or 2nd) if she goes down this road in sound.
