Yeah yeah that's true, if autotune is abused you end up sounding like Cher or rappers who aren't able to sing a note... i mean for "style effect" lol. I meant that these days songs use it just to correct pitch. Cause there are safer ways to add effects to the voice, when autotnue it's not made or designed for that. But yeah i get what you say.
And yes, it is autotuned as her entire discography. I guess modsun's raspiness in his voice desguise the autotune better. it could also be that. I do think she sound too girly tho. Like not girly in a feminine way no, girly in the sense of a 12y/o girl. It's like if Jojo Siwa went pop-rock. I mean, i love her sweet voice a lot but sometimes it crosses that fine line and sounds like a little girl lol. some of LG vibes would have been ok for this song i guess. At least UMS but ok.
My main dislike is that the chorus is repeated like 5 times lol but i still love the dynamics of the song, the instrumental and the end when it goes harder. I hope AL7 would go in this direction.

I hope AL7 would go in this direction. Totally agree on this! I think the direction is interesting enough. I can see an album with this type of style going from a midtempo/rock ballad type of song like UMS or a heavier Birdie to very energetic songs that combines pop, rock and punk. When she becomes the sole lead of this type of songs yeah, I think she will evoke darker and stronger vocals to fit the heavier parts. |

Don't even talk to me if you're listening to the song with the stupid little speaker from your phone or computer. Just sayin' xD you've been warned. Listen to music properly kids, please xD Hi mr Kid, I am using headphones, that weren't cheap, and I can hear autotune as anyone else here. Specially in the beginning when she sings "I still burn for you, like the sun burns in the sky". The same way I could notice it listening from phone's speakers so it's either my heaphones sucking hard, speakers being so good or you trying to prove people wrong. I guess third option is the correct one  but I am not here to argue.
I expected something more from this song, but it's actually boring. This autotune doesn't bother me much as it did when I listened it for the first time. I won't listen it too often tho, it's too monotous.

I dont like his voice (MD) to much, probably I will not listen song again, maybe rare, but i will be happy if this is how AL7 will be, and I will maybe love song if only Avril sing

Arfff I'm a bit disappointed, I have been obsessed this past month with "Karma" and "Bones" and when I saw the announcement of these two together I was so ready, after the first listen I was like: it's ok, might grow... but yeah I was expecting something more exciting  |

^ I agree. Of the 3 Mod Sun singles I've heard, this one is the weakest. Karma and Bones are both great though.
Well I guess the consolation here is that this isn't Avril's song, it's just a nice bonus that she's featured on it. And maybe a good preview of what's to come on her own album, but hopefully better.

I've listened to it 4 times now and I like it more each time. It isn't as instant as Karma, more of a grower to get the rhythm of it.
I literally have no idea what anyone's talking about with autotune. There's some distortion right near the end with both their voices but that's for effect. I don't hear anything anywhere else that doesn't just sound like basically everything she records

I am glad Avril is featured heavily, though it's absolutely more a Mod Sun track than an Avril track and I feel people should go in expecting that to be less disappointed maybe (given some of the reactions I see on here so far)? I can understand where the hype came from but it's better to go in expecting that I think. It's definitely better than most of the other collabs though! 
I think this is very important. You're saying something that we should all take into consideration. I followed modsun's work for the past week since we've knew they were working together and I was expecting this kind of sound tbh. |

Her parts are not that away from her comfort zone tho in like ballads and midtempo songs |

I guess you can argue it have some UMS feels to it, but I also think Avril portion is more in line with AL-HAW? It's like Avril def sounds like Avril, it kinda fits her, but at the same time is just not "there". It isn't a ballad, I isn't straight pop and it isn't like TBDT. It's like popier alt rock. Alt rock is already a mix of different sounds so thats not saying much lol. |
