[SINGLE] 🔥 Flames 🔥 w/ Mod Sun

Avrils vocals are soo good on this track, which gives me hope they won't be screechy for AL7. However her soft vocals don't really compliment the rock vibe nor jel with Mod Suns raspy voice. I dunno for rock music I feel you need a strong voice like Miley Cyrus has shown on her new album Plastic Hearts.

Low-pass filter is used in almost every song she mades since TBDT. There are songs where it's more obvious, but it's something she uses regularly since 2006. Her vocals are pretty cleansed since then (they were autotuned in LG & UMS too, but in another way).

The thing is that her voice is really nasal, either because of lyme or the singing technique she uses in the last years (which started with The British Version Of Complictated). First it was nasal only live, she used this technique live way before lyme. It wasn't really noticeable on the 6th record, I think she changed her technique when she recorded the vocals or it was the production, but her vocals seems as flat as they were (in a good way) in the previous records. WAW was really nasal, and Flames is pretty nasal too (I'm getting tired of this word lol) at least in the beginning. But I love how she cracks "youuuuuu" around 0:09, it reminds me of her 18-year-old self, I can literally picture her singing like that on the stage back then.

Her backing vocals in Flames are awesome, and as the song hits 1:30, her vocals becomes really powerful along with the instrumentals and it's fucking epic. Yes, they are a bit girly, but it's because the LPF I assume. Her powerful vocal reminds me something that could have been the love child of UMS and TBDT. I still love the engineering and the production, I still think their voices blend really well. About the style: don't forget it's MOD's song and he goes in this alternative-trap-anything style lately (which I really like), and it's NOT Avril's song. (Although I really like this and I secretly hope for something similar like this on AL7).

I really like the song. Auto tune isn’t bothering me, I can’t really notice it too much but I guess I’m used to it being used in pretty much every artist in every song. I like the distortion in both voices towards the end of the song too.

I also think it gets better after listening a few times and love the build up throughout the song. As it’s just a short song I hope a video could have been made for it.

I agree Avrils voice really does sound good on this track. I think I got used to her nasal sound after all. Mod Sun doesn’t sound bad too but the last part he sings sounds annoying for me.
Other than that after a few hours I think the song is okay. I‘m not a big fan of it but I don‘t think it is bad. I really really hope that Avril doesn’t disappear for the next three months and releases something with the new hype.
