I'm disappointed to hear they haven't shot the video yet, but at least she confirmed they are shooting tomorrow. We probably won't have it for at least 2-3 weeks depending on how involved it is with editing.

^ Yeah that's totally fair. But this is the Avril that did nothing as far as interacting with people is concerned or even just having much of an online presence in general for years. Seeing her look excited about making new music, being active in the studio throughout the holidays, acknowledging her fans even if it's just a "yessss emoji emoji emoji", asking people for thoughts on new music and basically just stepping up her game on how to operate in this digital era is a big step in the right direction for her and I see no reason not to openly be happy about that, personally.

But you're right, it's what every artist should do. If you have a following and people support you, you should be thankful in return and show it.

I just see this as the start of a new era where she's ~potentially~ trying to do things right.

I totally get that and it's definitely an improvement from where things were. I just think calling it "killing it" and all that is a bit hyperbolic when it is basically the bare minimum she should be doing. I hope she continues going in this direction and will do even more than she already is. But I just think it's kind of ridiculous how only a few months ago everyone was pissed at her for the disasterous Lyme concert and suddenly it's like everyone forgot about it because she posted a few emojis in fan comments so I guess that makes up for it. And any time she releases something new or basically does anything fans get overly hyped about it like "YASS KweEn YoU aRe Ki11ing it!!!" and then a couple weeks later they think it's the worst song she ever put out. I don't know, I guess I'm just saying that I get everyone's excited about all the new stuff to come, I am too, but like... calm down lol

I'm all for being cautiously optimistic too, but if people want to get excited, I think now more than ever they have every reason to. I don't see it as forgetting all the problems in the past, I see it as being hopeful that she and/or her team have acknowledged that there were indeed problems with communication and lack of effort and are now actively trying to work upon it.

I've personally allowed myself to embrace this new pre-era with optimism.  She seems active, passionate, engaged. She's using her social media right for the first time in her entire career. She's working with amazing musicians and seems to be heading in a musical direction that seems to get pretty much all of her fans on board. I will never dare forget the dark ages of this fandom, but when I see her actively trying to do everything right and improve on the things that needed improvement I will happily applaud her.

I am 50-50 to be honest. In one hand I am extremely happy she's doing something and how promising this looks but I also agree with Bogo with most what she said. I mean, we also got many pictures when HAW era started, a lot of them (mostly bad edited so that's an improvement i guess). She also did that Q&A which let's say it's the same amount of questions she's been answering now on instagram.

My point is that i don't see she's more engaging with the fandom now than how she's been in the past eras. Apart from answering a few comments on IG which yess, it is great indeed, coming from her. But i think it's too soon to claim she's imporved or that this era will be different. As far as I'm concerned this has only started and we don't know what will happen next. She does get bored easily, or tired idk.

But yeah, my emotions can't help it, i am excited as hech bc of this era. My logical part of the brain keeps telling me to calm down but i can't xD I also hope this era won't disappoint. It started great, let's pray it will continue in this direction but i can't blame anyone for being cautious lol.
