I honestly think he's referring to Bones and not really Flames when comparing the sound to foo fighters. He also says "this second single" and that was Bones, karma being the first. Ummmm... Nop. Literally he says: "This next one i'm dropping, i fucking love it, it's kind like foo fighter feel this one, very rock, energy... "i wanted to bring the energy back up again. like karma was like real energetic, bones obviously i really brought it down. Im gonna bring that energy up again real quick" Ok yeah. You're right β
I guess I needed to pinch myself to believe that description π

You're right, it could be worse. It's probably about motorcycles and riding and living a "fast life". Who knows maybe it's like Bebe's song "Ferrari" which is way deeper than the title may seem xD or Fast Car by Tracy Chapman, love that song. But both of those songs are ballads.
I hope it's a banger about being cool, braging about themselves or something but not in a cringey way. Something like "we'll set this world on fire". Or maybe a song bashing haters ala Taylor.
We'll se. I can't believe it's actually happening. A part of me it's expecting a cancellation last minute and i don't know why πππ Ramona what did you do to me?? ππ

MYSTERY SOLVED: Song is about grilling smores over flames. you know avril, modsun the crackers, marshmallow artist (don't know how to spell that artist) in the middle. A triangle drama.

My biggest concern might be that the lyrics will be insensitive to the current situation with Covid. I just wish they know that right now a song about bragging to be rich and independent, living your life the fullest no matter what other people think etc. would not be the best option.

I'm actually completely fine with whatever lyrical direction they throw at us. Love song, breakup song, song about being free and badass, song about setting zombies on fire during an apocalypse, 101 survival song about how to literally start a fire with sticks and rocks... you name it, I'm down. The thing I care most about is the song being the kind of banger that is so good and infectious you simply can't deny it. And since Modsun teased that the MV might be coming on the same day, I hope it's surprising, fun to watch and with a lot of replay value. Avril's MVs tend to be very hit or miss (mostly miss, in my humble opinion) and I never find myself wanting to rewatch them many times, save a few exceptions. If the MV for 'Flames' looks anything like Modsun's first two MVs I think it has a high chance of looking pretty clean and being quite visually pleasing, which I'm excited about. I also hope they start teasing us again soon to build up anticipation and make the wait more exciting for us since they announced the song a full week prior to its release. It doesn't need to be a snippet, but perhaps some more references about the song, a piece of the lyrics, or even a subtle BTS pic of the MV if it has indeed been shot already? Anything to keep us guessing would be quite fun at this stage!  |
