[SINGLE] 🔥 Flames 🔥 w/ Mod Sun

Just heard it all. I like acoustic versions but this was not worth the wait.

Just heard it this morning, I would definitely say that at least her intro has been re-recorded as it does sound slightly different. Her other parts sound the same as the original, but perhaps she re-recorded the whole thing and after studio finishes it just sounds very much the same?

I do like it, it’s so short though! Anyway nice to hear a different version of the song, I think I prefer the original but it’s nice we have both. I though Internet Killed The Rockstar Deluxe was out today, but I can’t find it on Apple Music?

Well that was disappointing.. I like the original song but this sounds too much like the original (vocals).
They did a change with instruments but I think I forget about this one real quick. At first I thought her vocals are being re-used and that's so lazy but I hear some little changes tho.

I’m with everyone else here. It’s alright but I don’t think it really does the song justice. It’s fine as an acoustic version but it lacks the punch and energy of the original. If they wanted to do a true stripped down version, they could have rearranged this entirely and slowed it down maybe or softened their vocal performances.

You can tell in the intro on the second lyric that Avril redid that line, but it’s hard to say if anything else is a new vocal or just taken from the old one. It’s possible she just sounds exactly the same but even then, you’d think there would be some subtle differences. I think she only re-recorded the easier parts and they probably reused her takes with the higher notes so she wouldn’t have to do them again. Maybe they wanted to preserve her voice since she’s been in the studio so much.

I agree this wasn’t worth waiting several weeks for. But I get the sense Mod had to wait until he knew when the deluxe of his album is dropping and maybe he thinks the song with Avril will be the thing that pushes it, since she’s easily the biggest name on the album. Just like how a few weeks ago he dropped that new song with blackbear, I feel like that will be a deluxe track, same with acoustic Flames.

Exactly! They had us wait over 3 months for this acoustic, you'd expect something a bit more surprising and compelling, or at least some visuals to make the experience more interesting for the listener and prompt them to replay the video. This was a nice little acoustic, but not worth all the wait and all the teasing imo, once again a case of hyping things up too early and then taking forever to release it -- if they had released this same acoustic a few weeks after the original song I probably wouldn't have minded it since it's a nice little version that gets the job done, but with all the teasing that they did for so long I couldn't help but expect more.

I think I prefer the acoustic version.
