Also I dont really like that line in Hello Kitty "like a fat kid on a pack of Smarties". I don't know if that is a reference I dont get or if it's just supposed to be funny but turns out being mean. Where are you from? Smarties is a chocolate candy we have in Canada. She's using a play on words 'like a fat kid on cake', which means 'all over and/or very attracted to something'. I think her intention was to reference something Canadian, but yeah, that whole song is cringe. Interesting, I didn't know that. I assumed she was referring to the US version of Smarties, which are a fruit flavored sort of chalky candy that we have here.

I know Smarties though Now that line in HK makes more sense! It's still and mean though... but at least it doesn't feel that random anymore

Don’t forget these gems: I am small and the world is big Goodbye, goodbye, I have to go, I have to go I miss you, I miss you so bad, oh it’s so sad I can’t take it, it wasn’t fake it, it happened - this one always drove me nuts The more I am a hot mess the more he goes baNANAs
That's the one I was going to post. THIS bothers me so damn much. Completely ruined the song for me and it's sad because it's good besides that line.

Some of the lyrics from her TBDT are girl bashing. She was only 22 or so at the time and lived in Hollywood, so what could you expect? But still, as a feminist woman I don't like some of the lines from Girlfriend, TBDT or One Of Those Girls.
Btw, I can't stand her when she claims to be the MFP. I know most fans refer to her as such but, in my opinion the lines "I'm the motherf*cking princess" (Girlfriend and RnR), "I'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen" (TBDT) and "I'm a crazy bitch, I do what I want when I feel like it" (Smile) sound so arrogant and immature...

I don't think I've heard something like that in general conversation in eons

At the moment I didn't read so badly in those Smile Lyrics, but they were different times.

With all of the lyrics mentioned in this thread I don’t find issue at all. With the “like a fat kid on a pack of Smarties” still makes me chuckle.
The *only* lyrics that makes me wince is “I’m not nobody’s fool”. Double negatives, ya’ll..... I can’t.

I always tried to understand what „I‘m not nobody‘s fool“ means and was confused. I thought it might be because I don’t speak English and because of that don’t really understand what she is meaning.. just sounds odd for me too

Wow, that song is 20 years old and I have never heard "I'm not nobodys fool", I have always heard "I'm nobodys fool" because the "not" is so short. Thanks for destroying that

I've always sang it as 'I'm nobody's fool' - I honestly don't hear the 'not' part.
