I like how the word “juvenile” gets thrown around to describe the LS album, as if fast guitars and aggressive lyrics after the age of 30 make somebody’s feelings invalidated. Too Fast to Live is juvenile based off the subject matter, not the style of music. The Love Sux album isn’t juvenile just because most of the songs are about being done wrong by somebody 🙄 It’s not the music that makes it juvenile, it’s the lyrics. The GL album was written when she was 26 and yet has way more mature lyrics, a more reflective way of looking at a relationship and owning part of its failure. I get that that wasn’t her intention with this album, that she wanted it to be lighthearted, sarcastic, and fun, and that the songs are more boy bashing instead. But how exactly can you argue that lyrics like “They called the cops on us, we don’t give a fuck” aren’t juvenile? It’s like she doesn’t know how to write mature, adult lyrics unless it’s a ballad or mid tempo track. You can express being hurt by a relationship or talk about moving on, forgetting about that person in a way that sounds like an adult rather than a teenager’s perspective.

That is what i've been saying for the longest time...The last time she had a fast paced song with relatable lyrics was probably Runaway

Criticizing a work that was not destined to see the light is not fair, but Too fast to live is in fact very raw in the emotion of feeling full and living intensely without caring about anything else. And that is valid for people of 4 years or 85

Just heard “Too Fast To Live” and I will say Avril’s attitude is so freaking infectious and I hope that even if she ventures into more “serious”, reflective music that the spirit and sass will remain present in a couple tracks. Balance always. I really liked hearing the song and I’m glad we had a chance to 😂 She just has a way of delivering defiant lyrics that make it more about her personality than the words eg the whole “we don’t give a fuck” part about the cops coming was very her and made me laugh because the way she said it was so convincing. Also the little part where she talked in the song surprised me!

This is my ranking for the tracks
1. Too Fast to Live 2. Joker 3. Hellelujah 4. Shut Up 5. Eternally 6. Californyeah 7. Rock Boyfriend
I didn't listen to TN yet, but I'm sure I'll put it at least in #6

My favourite bsides from Love Sux are in no particular order:
Californiyeah - This is a hair better than eternally for me even though I love that one too! Mod and her both singing together on this one was just so endearing Hellelujah - Fire, I’m still obsessed Joker - I liked all the card references and it’s fun

The energy, pace and topic changes in the Teenage Nightmare snippet tells me that’ll be one of my favourites for sure if we hear it

I wish she had replaced KMLTWIE with Too Fast to Live! It's a sound we haven't really heard much from her I think.

I did my best to update the links on the first page but unfortunately so many songs have gotten removed at this point and not been reuploaded, so unfortunately some are missing. They might be on Soundcloud but I don't feel like looking right now.

TFTL is probably the best of the leaks imo but doesn't fit LS. KMLTWIE is the token falling in love song. That's probably why it wasn't used Retrograde doesn't fit it either, there's nothing about love, girlfriends or boyfriends (besides of the part where she's giving a warning to her bf not to come over because she might be rude, but she blames it on the moon. It's about bad luck and weird things happening during Mercury's retrograde.
Many people dont know about Mercury's retrograde, this is probably why title got changed. It didn't know it either so I just found explanation in google.
Here's the explanation; Has the full version leaked? I've only heard the snippet but it sounds like it's about a relationship suddenly not going very well anymore as if some outside force (like mercury going into retrograde) it's to blame for the sudden change because she doesn't understand it
