OK, you get be play god and wipe one Avril album and accompanying era from history, what's it going to be? Why you would isn't required but for those who feel like sharing, please do.
I'll go first. I'd remove the current era from the timeline. I'd love to see where Avril would have gone after HAW if she hadn't connected with Barker, Feldman, Mod, DTA, Et Al . . . It's still not too late Avril! Move to Nashville for a year and work on your country album away from the hustle and bustle of the LA scene!

I would remove the self-titled, easily. It feels like the least “Avril-ish” album if that makes sense and the era was a mess, then she got Lyme after. This album could have never been released and it honestly wouldn’t have made any difference to her career, whereas all the others feel important in some way. LG being the first and have the most hits on it, UMS being her move into rock and getting more involved with the songwriting and production, TBDT being her move into pop punk and featuring her biggest single, GL being an acoustic album and her “songwriter/artistic” album, HAW being about post-Lyme, and LS going back to her roots. I feel like AL just doesn’t feel important in any way or contribute anything new to her career or discography as a whole.

And while I won't debate it I will say that in comparison to my choice (LS) AL has (IMO) at least four tracks (Give You What You Like, Hello Heartache, Falling Fast, Hush Hush) that have a chance of being regarded as solid (and somewhat 'deep') songs in years to come and not just toe-tapping filler, which to my mind, is 80% of the songs on Love Sux. I still think LS is in the top third of Avril's output it just doesn't stay with you after the last track is over. And the leaked songs to my understanding are all about the same quality as well. I think that's why Avalanche does stand out compared to the rest of the album.

Honestly I'd erase half her discography. I have a playlist of all her songs and most songs from GL- HAW make me go "why? Most of these songs bring nothing to the table and they don't really sound like her vibe. She was just putting it stuff." But definitely AL if I had to pick one whole album for obvious reasons and HAW if I had to pick an era because it was kind of dull.

Goodbye Lullaby. Such a bland era. Bland album, bland songs, bland tour. If I never heard any of the songs from GL again I really would not care.

For me the best records are by far LS, UMS, TBDT, and LG. The rest is not so good... let me explain:
HAW is a very good record, but too much “out” of what I want from Avril Lavigne. I always wanted and I will want a rocky Avril.
AL, despite you can find some great songs, there are no live instruments and some of them are not really good. Too much “filler” I would say.
But for me the album that I really don't like is GL. You can find some good songs, but overall is too boring. I have to be very in the mood to listen GL, and most of the times I don't finish the album because I get bored again.

Thanks to everyone who has voted and shared their thoughts so far! It seems like most of us could do without Avril Lavigne's 'Avril Lavigne' but there is a little more variety on which era people would want to jettison at this point.
If I had a second pick I would have to say that The Best Damn Thing is another record I could do without although I don't know enough about the era & related tours to comment on that aspect. I just think TBDT is a tremendously overrated AL effort. I know it had Avril's last big US hit with 'Girlfriend' but that is a song and video I have absolutely despised since day one. It also gave us her iconic phrase of being 'the motherfucking princess' but that wouldn't be enough to prevent me from banishing it to the dustbins of history.
If you haven't voted yet, please do so. It's anonymous so Avril doesn't have to know what you really think of her! Promise.

I know AL is a bit of a mess and has some questionable songs on it, and the era as a whole was weird as fuck, but I wouldn’t erase it because we did actually get some really good songs. 17, Hush Hush, GYWYL, FF, Hello Heartache are all great songs.
On the contrary I wouldn’t count anything on GL as great.

IMO those are two of the very few truly standout tracks from an otherwise underwhelming and weakly written/produced album.

Darlin I never really got on board with…always found it a bit dull!

None, every Album has it's reason I would erase the label issues so we could get their real versions. I think she should re-release GL and AL with the original tracks and concepts.

The first time I made this poll I forgot to include the 'Keep Them All' option so I re-did it and I'm really glad I did since it's gotten three votes so far. People who are 100% committed to something fascinate me. In for a penny, in for a pound.

I don't think I would erase any era. If anything, I think she learned from her misses and mistakes and used them to improve in the future. If we hadn't had such a dreadful era in the AL album cycle, she probably wouldn't have fixed those problems in the eras that followed. I think it's safe to say that was by far the worst era of all: terrible management, terrible label, all-over-the-place album with no direction whatsoever and mediocre production, cero energy from her from interviews, to promo, to touring (before lyme), really bad press for her with the HK music video and meet and greets, among other things related to her relationship with Chad. But again, I think all of this mess helped her avoid them in the future and improve in every aspect of her career.
PS: Who on earth voted for Love Sux? lmao.

People who are 100% committed to something fascinate me. In for a penny, in for a pound. I am one of the "keep them all". My least favorite album is AL, by far. But even on that record there are songs that meant something to me. For example HTNGU is a pretty weak song that moved things in me. If that album had not existed, I would have liked that song to appear on another one. In this same poll we can see how different fans are impacted by one album or another. With such popular artists as Avril every step of their career counts because it's not just what benefits the album did on their career but the fact that every single thing they do means something to someone (even Hello Kitty, as strange as it seems)
