Interesting that before we were talking about Avril being surrounded by yes-men, always just going with the first idea that comes to mind, etc. and this video of Taylor from 2014 popped up in my feed, where she talks about exactly that and how dangerous that mindset can be. So i was just listening to Dare to Love me, in the storyline thing it says "I know my fans appreciate raw and vulnerable songs, I wrote this about learning to let down my guard again." And we know who its obv about falling in love with Mod, and that made me wonder in AL8, are we gonan get kind of a sequel to this song in the same vein about how she was hurt again or something. I think that would be interesting if we got a follow up to this song

I don’t really agree with the she doesn’t have to prove herself/doesn’t have to be making music logic. It’s correct - she doesn’t have to be making music, she’s financially set up for life. But she is, and because she is surely as an artist she WANTS to produce her best work? As long as she’s still making music her own artistic integrity should mean she wants to always be bettering herself and making the best art she can. I work with some very well off people who absolutely don’t need to work anymore because they’re at the very top of their (lucrative) careers - but they are still working so they’re producing the best work they can, you don’t just start half arsing it because you don’t have to be doing it. She can have a fun album, she can have one with less serious lyrics, but the problem is she’s not improving other aspects alongside it. She says Love Sux was made to play live - it’s not my favourite album but I agree, it is made to play live - so why didn’t she play it? Why have her performances got worse with time and not better? Whys she got worse at connecting with her fans? Why did she used to play a variety of instruments on stage now she barely strums a guitar? I can’t think of a single thing that has actually improved since the GL era. If her lyrics had been improving and she’d shown growth since her first 3 albums then sure, she can have LS as her fun, not serious, can’t be arsed to write about much other than vomit album. But she hasn’t. I could not possibly agree more. |

We are defintley getting someting before June so i think we can safely say the single, and album will be here first half of 2024,
Also makes me kinda wonder what these festivals are like, like why do them instead of a regular tour? I know we only have 2 festivals so far just hope she doesnt od a full on festival run. Maybe only international. I also hope its not another situation like in 2014 and 2022 where she is an opening act for somebody in America. I wanna see her. Opening for the backstreet boys is a weird vibe at least MGK is more her style lmao. NGL tho, id rather see BSB for Avril over MGK if that was the case.

I've been listening to 1989 Taylor's Version a lot since it came out and noticed how many bangers she did with Max Martin.
I heard also fans complain about the "songs from the vault" cause they hoped they had been produced/written by Max as well.
I know many fans here complain about WTH and Wish You Were here cause they're too pop or something, but I wouldn't mind if she worked with him again for a banger first single of the new era honestly

I think festivals are a lot more cost effective for touring artists than putting together their own tour, it’s way less expensive for them I think, which is probably also why nowadays she’s going on tour as an opener in places where she doesn’t pull big audiences anymore. Especially since the cost of everything has gone up, that includes touring expenses.
I don’t honestly think we’ll have a whole new album before June but first single at least. For a festival set she’s not going to play much new stuff anyway.

Unless Billie Elish is touring and Avril is an opener for her, then id see that (Or if she opens for Olivia well then we're fucked Olivia is sold out my friend who absolutley loves Olivia couldnt even get tickets) Blink 182 is touring again and still next year, could be a possible opener which if true, id 100% go to that. I do hope she does a smaller US tour tho like she did with HAW i like that kind of tour it seemed intimate |

If she really wanted to I think she can tour for her fans only. She's got friends in the pop punk scene that are below her. She can take them out with her as the headliner and their fans will come. Especially if she puts out a good album and promotes herself well.
Also, how long were people like I miss pop rock but like Kelly Clarkson, Avril, Pink pop rock. There's money out there she just needs to sell to them.
