I would love a rockier album, but yes not that much heavy. Also because it would be hard and weird to go from Girlfriend to a Korn-Style song in her next shows.
I would love something in Green Day Style (which is not that far from Take Me Away, Unwanted or Forgotten!). I really hope she delivers a ballad as beautiful as Avalanche in the next record too

Like a heavy iron Maiden/Korn style song and then jumping into Complicated and Girlfriend. Would be wild. A Green Day/RHCP style would defintley fit better and maybe add more UMS songs int he setlist

Yes, this. I would love a rockier sound but always in her style. I also wish she adds more UMS song in her setlist next year for the 20th anniversary. Maybe she can bring back Dont tell me and He Wasn’t even if I would love together and forgotten again. She had played them at the piano the first time I saw her live and nobody of us could realize the magic we were witnessing at the moment

Yes, please! Bring back the OG 4 singles from UMS to the setlist next year. We can live without WTH, HAW or HTNGU if she needs to cut it down.

I disagree. I find anything but MHE totally unnecessary to play at this point. WTH and HTNGU are tired songs but if she wants to give representation to each album it would be those, plus HAW. I don’t think she should ever cut HAW, it was an important song to her personal life even if it wasn’t a hit song.

I really wish fans would let the UMS obsession go already. You are talking about an album she made literally 20 years ago. If you like that album, then you have it to enjoy as much as you want. Why does she have to try to “recreate” it or make a 2.0 or bring back songs from that album live? I love LG but I’m not asking her to make an album I love from 20 years ago. Nor do I expect she will ever play most of those songs live again. Those albums had their time. You can still enjoy them. New era should be for new music, new sounds.

I feel like if she wanted to do another UMS she would’ve by now. She had freedom to do what she wanted with LS and we got Bratvril round 2. She can play what she wants on tour and actively chooses to only play one song from it. It’s a fan favourite album, im not convinced it’s an Avril favourite album..!

I don't think people really want UMS 2.0 when they say that, they just want a heavier, rockier album. Something that is closer to UMS than any of her other albums but still its own unique thing. She added Losing Grip to her setlist this tour to celebrate LG 20th by playing all the singles so that's really the only reason anyone mentioned playing the singles from UMS next tour.

I just don’t think that’s what Avril wants to do though. Don’t get me wrong I love UMS and it’s definitely up there with LG as my favourite sound from her. But she just doesn’t seem to want to go in that direction, we’re 5 albums down the line and she’s not really leant back towards that sound at all since.

If I'm not mistaken, in one of those recent interviews, she said UMS was the album she got closer to her fans, connecting more with them through music. I think she's just gearing up to talk more about the album due to the anniversary, just like she did with Let Go. Nostalgia is a powerful tool, you know? I don't really like 2.0 of anything, but I would love another dark album coming from her. She always talks about how she wants her music to have a positive message and all that, but sometimes you need to live through the shitty days too. Life sometimes sucks, and feeling down or defeated is just part of the process.

Who even said UMS 2.0? I don’t want that either, just would love a heavier sound from her in the same vein of Love Sux but with more mid tempos and ballads.
We’re just talking about giving UMS its moment for the 20th anniversary just like she did with Let Go. She doesn’t even like Complicated that much and has left it pretty clear after years and years yet she plays it because she knows how big it was for her career. Well, UMS consolidated her as a worldwide artist and it’s the era that allowed her to tour two years all over the world selling huge venues. Why would you be so annoyed she incorporated all the singles for the anniversary?
Whether you all like it or not, UMS still to this day is her best work according to most of the fandom, and that is enough for her to give some love to it and celebrate this 20th anniversary milestone. She didn’t lose a single fan between LG and UMS, and even gained a lot more, so LG 20 was a treat for the GP and nostalgia, but UMS 20 should be the ultimate treat for fans.

It’s a fan favourite album, im not convinced it’s an Avril favourite album..!I always got the feeling she doesn't like that record that much. Almost everytime she is reacessing her career she ignores that record entirely. And honestly, it simply is not as iconic of a moment in her career as her fandom claims it to be. Ultimately TBDT is the defining record of her career in terms of what has become the signature sound and image associated with Avril. You can find traces of it in every single one of the projects that came afterwards while you can't really say the same for UMS and LG.

Also am I the only one that is sceptical about her having been wanting to do a heavy pop-punk record but being contested by the label? How does that even match up with the current timeline of events that we're aware of? Assuming that she had the creative liberty she wanted while doing UMS and TBDT we're only left with GL era and onwards... but didn't she intend GL to be an acoustic driven album all along? I also doubt that pop-punk was the direction for HAW which just basically leaves us with the self-titled record...
