Fefe, Shania, and two of her most serious past relationships and no one from MGK’s camp? Has Avril finally decided to surround herself with the right people? Random Shawn was there, but we know Avril loves her gays I think after the whole Mod split she fully distanced herself from MGK and his camp or something. Also Shawn Mendas is straight i think youre thinking of Sam Smith. Its possible idk who else spoke there but i think Chad qas just htere on behalf of Nickelback it may have just been a concidence since theyre canadian too No no, I had the right person in mind 🏳️🌈 |

Shania loves her.
She must feel proud of how much Avril conquered, and now it's seen as an influence on the new generation, she's like her daughter in the music industry, kinda part of her legacy too, not to mention the bond they share as Lyme survivors. They connected for life.

I'd love seeing Alanis there, since she was Avril's main role model on the beggining and she was one of the first artists to show some support for her.

(Hi, I’m a new member and I just made an account today. I didn’t even know this forum existed until today, I was looking for a place to discuss her music but the Avril Lavigne subreddits aren’t very active, so I’m glad to have found this place!)
I genuinely would love for her next album to be like a combination of Goodbye Lullaby and Under My Skin, imo her two best albums/eras. However I could also see her next album being kind of like The Best Damn Thing (although it could be argued Love Sux was kind of like a TBDT 2.0 in some aspects). I feel like The Best Damn Thing was a really solid album because it had a bit of everything: fun, lighthearted upbeat songs (like Girlfriend, title track, I Don’t Have To Try), more serious upbeat songs (Runaway) and a good amount of ballads/more slow songs (When You’re Gone, Innocence, Keep Holding On, I Will Be). On top of that a few remixes and a collaboration with Lil Mama for Girlfriend which was imo a nice twist on the original song.
I do think it’s very likely that her next album will be released next year. I’m also curious if as mentioned before in this thread there will be an anniversary project (like a re-release like Let Go) for Under My Skin’s 20th anniversary.

Thank you, I’m almost a little embarrassed to admit I didn’t know about this forum before since I’ve been a huge fan of hers for like a decade. Personally, I think a lead single somewhere in the summer with an album release in the autumn seems likely to me. Assuming there’ll be an UMS anniversary project (which would be like May, around spring time) it seems like it would be a good idea to give that some time to shine on its own before kicking off an entirely new era. If I had to be specific, I’d say July/August lead single, October/November album release. |

Also yeah the Avril Lavigne Subreddits are really... yeah I do agree ii hope its a combo UMS and GL i love those eras so much. Wish i was around (well as a fan i was around during them) I ecame a fan during the LS era like 3 weeks before it cam eout so this is my first waiting period for an Era and itds been a doozy. I love TBDT and takes me right back to 2007 and has so many amazing songs! I hop wshe does UMS 20th too an dmaybe TBDT 20th as well since those were her 2 biggest hits and hwne she was mega popular. Looking forward to discussing Avril with you more |

Haven't posted much lately, but I read everything. I honestly didn't like LS very much when it first came out and was disappointed, but it grew on me and now I listen regularly. I have no idea where Avril is planning go for AL8 beyond the possibility of more rock, but I hope she goes darker on the next record. I don't need UMS 2.0, but I like the healthy mix of ballads and uptempo songs and I think that would be refreshing after the whiplash of HAW to LS.

It seems that she recorded a lot of material already. I thought that most of her work on AL8 was with Mod and therefore canceled. |

I wonder if she's planning to drop her lead around the (possible) documentary. Like, there's no comeback after hiatus nor comeback to her old genre this time around. So they will use something to create some buzz. Maybe the (again, possible) UMS 20 edition could be it as well or yet another collab (I hope not)
