It's time for those rock ballads that go hard on the instrumentals. Love her piano ballads, but it became kind of a rule on her discography, when you think of an Avril ballad it already comes to your mind that it's going to be an acoustic one. Like, break that

I hope the next album is going to have more songs about more profound themes such as thoughts about life, mental state, self-discovery, reflection etc. like How Does It Feel, Everybody Hurts, Runaway, Innocence, Keep Holding On and Who Knows. I just want more slow, grim, serious ballads or upbeat songs with relatable themes from her, they’re among her best songs imo. Not an entire album full of them necessarily, just a few is good (like TBDT, a perfect amount of more serious songs in between the fun and lighthearted ones). I would just love that An introspective, but darker and heavier album talking about her own feelings more than anything Like that quote from avalanche says "what do you do when the hero needs saving?" She can have those happy songs about life there as well, since it's all part of the process of getting through it Introspective, exactly that’s the word I was looking for! Also agree on Avalanche, I meant to include it as well in my initial list of songs I would love to see similar songs to on the next album. Personally, I’d just love to see another song like for example How Does It Feel, I don’t think a lot of people really appreciate that song (IIRC it’s never been performed live + it’s a deep cut so it’s not surprising) for its depth. Although people criticize the lyrics for being simplistic sometimes (‘I’m small and the world is big’) it’s actually a very profound song about an almost philosophical question, almost a bit of an existential crisis, which unfortunately many people could relate to. I feel similar about Everybody Hurts in how it could be relatable for everybody going through any sort of painful experiences in life, Innocence about appreciating the peace in one’s (everyday) life and fearing the thought of losing it ever, Runaway describing the internal conflict a lot of people experience being drained by everyday life and wanting to escape it all, Keep Holding On is about offering support and encouraging endurance for those who are in any way struggling, Avalanche is about hiding hardships from others and not feeling heard as a result, Who Knows about facing uncertainty and keeping optimism for the future. These are all very relatable themes, and that’s what makes these songs so amazing and loved by many.

yeah i got what you meant 100% like wharts the sotry behind this what is that pull i 100% get what you meant. ALso i dont know either i meantalking about Tyga is gonna cause progblems and if she did cheat, unless she does one about how she feels horrible about it? Maybe a song how she thought Mod was the one? Who knows. This is exciting tho we have no idea what this album is gonna be like while the other albums we had a feeling. We dont even really know who shes working with shes bene keeping it hush hush. Yeah this is something really new We always some sort of know where she's going, but this time there's really nothing. We have interviews, but they are very old and were done before ALL THAT Even on them she was already kind of lost. Talking about trying things she usually don't do. I like this feeling of not knowing what to expect tho Not to mention it's good that she's not doing promises this time around. If people don't like it they can't say she was hyping up the album too much 💁 Yeah exactly theres been 0 promises or hype i dont even think she has said anythign abut what the album is since the breakup which was nearly a year ago now. Im excited we gottsa get stuff before the festival tour so im hoping soon

That build up to the last chorus is pure magic 🫂

I’m only recently really appreciating TBDT for how good the tracklist really was because as I’ve mentioned earlier it had the perfect amount of everything; the fun lighthearted songs, the more serious upbeat songs and the ballads/slower songs, along with a few remixes and acoustic versions (I hope she brings the acoustic versions back on the next album, if I remember correctly the last time she did that was with Rock N’ Roll on self-titled). Anyways that’s why I predict the next album might be similar to TBDT, especially in this regard. It seems like Avril will keep up with the rock sound and the general aesthetic, but judging by what she might be inspired by because of recent occurrences in her life this time there will be more serious and reflective themes in the music and lyrics that will lead to more ballads and serious, upbeat songs.

Oh for sure. Ive been saying this since it happened i want a son about the media and how it impacts that would be a fun song. I wonder if sheds gonna write about Tyga at all like reference him

In 2012 a fan asked her about it in a Q&A and she answered that on tour she prefers to perform the more upbeat songs. But it would be amazing if she were to ever perform it or acknowledge it again.
